COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: In May 2007 Skagen changed the recipe for "Nordlys" making it a German Hefeweizen instead of a Belgian Wit. Also the hopping has changed.

Bottled. Hazy yellow, brief head. Light banana aroma. Sweet, soft and medium bodied, notes of fruit, esters and soap. Some surprising late bitterness. A good thirst quencher!

500 ml bottle, as Skagen Nordlys Hvede, thanks to my beerpal Olav. ABV is 5.0%. Hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Wheaty aroma and flavour, with the usual notes of banana and cloves, but more subdued than in many hefeweizens from the homeland of this style.

Medium white head. Hazy opaque yellow body with light carbonation. Oily yoghurty banana aroma with herbal honey notes. Dry-sweet milky yoghurty ashy taste with orangey notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish earthy ashy aftertaste with yoghurty notes. Great aroma, but the flavour does not live up to it, too ashy and verging on the acidic. (0.5l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

On tap 10cl. Light apple juice. Low carbonation. Aroma is apple, citrus, yeast and honey. Flavour is apple, ginger and flour. And perhaps strawberry and peach. Fresh and fruity is it anyway. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPad

It’s unclear golden with a slightly gery hue and a nice, white head. The aroma has notes of banana, wheat, light yeast and clove. The flavour has a light sweetness, a spicy bite (the yeast I think), notes of banana and wheat. It’s a nice and OK weiss, not as dominant in the yeast/clove notes as a lot of the German ones.

Bottle, bought @ the brewery.
Pours muddy brownish yellow with a fine, fairly lasting, white, frothy head. Aroma has heavy sweet banana, green apple, definite sweet wheat. Some citric notes. Kinda bubble-gum like. Medium to high carbonation, fair grainy and light dry mouthfeel if a little watery. Flavour is sweet, lots of wheat notes, mild estery fruit with apples and banana. Fair dry bitterness in the finish. Fine hefe if a little simple.

Bottled. Hazy orange with a biref, white head. Light, somewhat sweet aroma. Sweet and spicy flavour; marcipan. Alot of sweet maltiness.
