Medium offwhite head. Hazy brown body. Rock sugar and dried fruit aroma with caramelly notes. Sweetish raisiny caramelly taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish syrupy rye crisp bread aftertaste with spicy notes. Nice, drinkable, quite vivid. (0.5l bottle, from Ftex Frederikshavn.)

Så fik jeg prøvet en øl fra Skagen Bryghus. Een øl blandt mange øller - udskiller sig hverken positivt eller negativt.

WTF? It smells like... shrimps? Since Ive caught a cold I assume that its my nose thats the problem here, so I keep sniffing. Ok, the sea creatures are not the strongest elements, but I swear that they are there in the back, behind the wall of sweet maltiness: malt extract, cereal, caramel and malt extract. The flavour is pretty strong, the shrimps are gone and the profile is a bit more complex than pure malt-mania. Caramel and nuts are the strongest notes, then malt extract, sweet fruits, dark dried fruits, brown sugar and hints of herbs. Moderate sweet taste with a light bitter and long-lasting finish. Mid-bodied and quite softly carbonated. A nice and malty sweet vienna! But the brewery is probably located a bit too close to the harbour.

Tasted blind. Hazy red amber with a lasting off-white head. Malty aroma with biscuit and bread and a touch of red berries. Sweet malty flavour of raw malt and rye bread. Sharp bitterness and a thin aftertaste. A bit like a bad doppelbock
