poured from a bomber i got from letspour.com. Dark amber clear pour with hardly any head. VERY carmely and skunky aroma. Taste is better though, very bitter and hoppy, carmel and earthy taste. Don’t love it - but decent.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, grainy malt and fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, biscuit malt and caramel. The finish is hoppy with a lingering citrus aftertaste. Decent all around.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap @ Taphouse Grill, Seattle. Clear deep amber with a dense head and great head retention. Aroma is heavy caramel with hints of pine and citrus. Flavor is really sweet and really bitter, kind of harsh. Medium body with a syrupy mouth feel. This is too sweet with a harsh citrus rind bitterness, very low drinkability.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Taphouse Bar and Grill in Seattle. Pours transparent orange. Decent citrus profile, nothing extraordinary, clearly lasting bitter finish. Meh. Typical Northwest style IPA, but not exemplary.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Wow. This tastes like a battle between the IBU liberation front and the crystal malt militia.....and nobody won. Just doesn’t work for me. Surprisingly heavy on the malty sweetness for a beer that has such a high rating. Also the hop aroma and flavor is mediocre; the hops come through mainly as bitterness (IBUs) which does not do a lot for me. Worst is the thick, caramelly mouthfeel that lingers after a swallow. I have not experienced that in too many other beers.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Citrus hops are apparent as a complement to the toffee, cereal, grainy and caramel malty notes in the nose. Clear deep copper coloured body is topped by a ow, off white head that recedes to a partial cover with some lacing. Flavour follows the aroma - sweet and grainy with offsetting hop notes. Seems less like an IPA than a very strong bitter. Perhaps my bottle was on the shelf a while? The hops just don’t seem to carry through. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature Bottle.
