3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 HogTownHarry (5713) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - OCT 17, 2006
Bottle (650ml). Shared with biegaman, blankboy and tupalev - my bottle. Poured murky orange, small head, floaties, don’t care, looks awesome. Bitter funky herbal and tea aroma, sour fruit. Taste - bitter; friggin’ sharply hoppily bitter, a massive acidic delayed-reaction bitterness, long, long bitterness burrows down into your tongue - pretty much nothing else, harsh resin bitterness. Average body, then masses of acidic/astringent bitterness. Very simple but interesting.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ernest (5647) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 11, 2005
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately hoppy (resin), lightly malty (cookie). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lighlty sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Dull.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 BückDich (5466) - McCall, Idaho, USA - DEC 6, 2005
Bronze amber color, sticky head, light lacing. Nose is sappy with pine and sweet pineapple juice. The flavor is overly bitter, no balanced but medium bodied and fairly refreshing. Not one I’d like to drink again due to the intensity of the bitterness.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 riversideAK (5458) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - FEB 19, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 1, 2008 The beer pours a darker copper color than many IPA’s. The aroma is pretty unique with a mixture of earthy hop tones, mild lemon hop tones, and caramel malts. Initial flavor is the citrus, which was a bit more subdued than many other IPA’s, followed by the grassy earth flavor, and finished by the sweet malt. This is an incredibly well balaned IPA,
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 after4ever (5361) - Brier, Washington, USA - AUG 19, 2006
UPDATED: JUL 23, 2007 **NOTE: This review applies only to the cask version (so far).** Draft at the Parkway’s Day of IPAs. Amber, still, headless. Cherry/yeast nose. Sweet malt flavor, loong but gentle bitter finish. Not much going on. I should note that I’ve had the normally-aspirated version many times and truly liked it a lot more than this; I’ll update my rating when I can. I’m just one to be generally bored with bubble-free casked beers, anyway, so today’s rating shows a fair degree of prejudicial thinking.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cornfield (5276) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - NOV 7, 2006
This pours a hazy dark orange with a tan head that starts out rocky, then evaporates in chunks leaving islands of bubbles and a sheet of lacing behind it. The aroma is a quiet sweet caramel under a heap of resinous, earthy, and orange blossom hop scents. Medium bodied. The flavor begins with some sweet malts but is soon overwhelmed by pine and orange zest bitterness. The finish is sticky sweet with a prolonged bitterness. Okay.

22oz bottle. Orange gold color. Medium to large white foamy head. Aroma is floral, fruity and sweet. A medium to full bodied IPA. Malts are fruity and sweet, with hints of orange peel. Hops are grapefruit and citrus and piney. Fairly bitter India Pale Ale, yet there is a still a lot of malt fruit and sweetness to balance it. In other words, its most definitely a Pacific Northwest IPA! Smooth taste. The floral hops and orange don’t really show up till the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 blankboy (5199) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 22, 2006
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, biegaman & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a cloudy dirty orange with floaties and a small diminishing white head. Aroma mostly of bitter hops along with sweet malt and some fruit. Big resiny hop flavour with a delayed incredibly intense bitter finish -- acidic and astringent even. Medium bodied. A decent IPA but somewhat one-dimensional and a little unbalanced, and that finish is almost unpleasant.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ThomasE (5176) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 2, 2007
Orange, amber colour with an off white head. Hoppy, fruity and piney aroma with a light caramel sweetness. Hoppy, piney and quite bitter flavor with a peach fruityness.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 mabel (5043) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 11, 2008
[1497-20080617] 1pt6floz bottle. Fruity hoppy citrus aroma. Hazy, red orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter hops and faint citrus notes in the flavour. Medium-full body is very bitter. Solid bitter.
