Bottle courtesy of RiversideAK. Pours copper with a white head. Smells of oranges, caramel, pine resin, dough, some earthy hints. Taste yields oranges, lots of bitterness and some earthiness. Not enough malt character or flavor hops to balance out the intensely overdone bitterness.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately hoppy (resin), lightly malty (cookie). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lighlty sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Dull.

Bottle pours an almost red color, frothy cream colored head, good lacing, but very little carbonation. † Pine and uber fresh hops make up the aroma. † IPA flavor is kinda weak up front, but it glides in gradually at the finish. † Lingering hoppy aftertaste. † Decent mouthfeel, very palatable, but could be a bit thicker up front. † Tasty but light sums this one up!

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, biegaman & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a cloudy dirty orange with floaties and a small diminishing white head. Aroma mostly of bitter hops along with sweet malt and some fruit. Big resiny hop flavour with a delayed incredibly intense bitter finish -- acidic and astringent even. Medium bodied. A decent IPA but somewhat one-dimensional and a little unbalanced, and that finish is almost unpleasant.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2007 **NOTE: This review applies only to the cask version (so far).**
Draft at the Parkwayís Day of IPAs. Amber, still, headless. Cherry/yeast nose. Sweet malt flavor, loong but gentle bitter finish. Not much going on.
I should note that Iíve had the normally-aspirated version many times and truly liked it a lot more than this; Iíll update my rating when I can. Iím just one to be generally bored with bubble-free casked beers, anyway, so todayís rating shows a fair degree of prejudicial thinking.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with biegaman, blankboy and tupalev - my bottle. Poured murky orange, small head, floaties, donít care, looks awesome. Bitter funky herbal and tea aroma, sour fruit. Taste - bitter; frigginí sharply hoppily bitter, a massive acidic delayed-reaction bitterness, long, long bitterness burrows down into your tongue - pretty much nothing else, harsh resin bitterness. Average body, then masses of acidic/astringent bitterness. Very simple but interesting.

22 oz bottle . Orange copper color. 1 finger head quickly faded to nil. Slight floral aroma. Taste is first malty sweet then a decent hop bite kicks in. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel was dull, flat. Maybe it was just the cool skull and crossbones label but I had higher expectations of this brew.4/2004
