bgburdman9 (722), Columbus, Ohio, USA Dec 19, 2007 Bought at whole foods seattle a while ago. Aroma was a little vegetal and a citrusy. Flavor was really weird and earthy for an IPA. Was a little weird tasting and not all that great of an IPA overall.
spikester (438), Salem, Oregon, USA Oct 7, 2008 Rich amber color with one finger off-white head and good amount of lacings. Nice pine needle aroma. Taste is bitter grapefruit with a modest malt backing. Cool bottle art. Tasty IPA. IrishBoy (2163), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bomber from Bottleworks; Nose of grapefruity hops, and some light notes of caramel malt; hazy orange with a huge, long lasting, thickly lacing, yellow head; flavor was lightly bitter and some sweetness with light pine and caramel; finish lightly bitter. Different combo if flavors! Taverner (481), San Ramon, California, USA Sep 25, 2008 Fruity banana smell. Pours cloudy orange with biscuit head. Lychee nose is spot on. This is more of a malt-heavy IPA, in the Midwest tradition. Still - it’s yummy, with bitter to the tip of the tongue bitterness. After warming a little it develops an almost a light chocolate maltiness - tempered by the hops that are now in full force. Drink at cellar. carruthm (431), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 21, 2008 V - cloudy orange
A - fruity hops, somewhat of a lychee nose
T - strong hops
P - well balanced durhambeer (535), Durham, USA Sep 9, 2008 Bottle shared with my pal Tony. Poured deep orange with minimal head. Smelled and looked fresh. Definite malty body. My first thought was more along the lines of a malty tea than beer, but there were certainly grapefruit hop notes there as well, just a bit more subtle than I expected from a west coast IPA. Somewhat earthy, mild pine. Bitter finish, in a good way. Quite enjoyable.
