Bier brauen (142), Bremerton, Washington, USA May 10, 2008 A nice brown. I’d almost call it a northwest brown. A little more hops than an English brown, but just a slight tinge of hops. Not quite the body or sweetness of what I’d consider the quintennsential (spelling?), but a good brown nevertheless.
Foolish_Mortal (948), San Diego, California, USA Sep 26, 2008 22oz bottle. Auburn brown color with a small off white head. Caramel, diacetyl, toast aroma. Earthy metallic hop characters. Buttery sweet malt flavors, mild breadiness. Lingering sweetness in the finish, somewhat nutty. Mouthfeel is light. carruthm (431), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 21, 2008 V - light brown
A - slightly malty with hops
T - slightly mediciney taste with a malt finish
P - slightly watery finish spikester (437), Salem, Oregon, USA Aug 6, 2008 Brownish-amber. Huge off-white head with copious lacings. Brown sugar malts with a northwest bitter hop flavor. Pretty hoppy for a brown. Also feels like a much higher abv than listed on this site. Maybe re-formulated? Pretty bold for a brown ale. Angeloregon (2002), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 1, 2008 On tap at Skagit River in Mt. Vernon, WA--Poured a light brown body with next to no head. Nutty, mildly hoppy and caramel nose. A little thin, but highly drinkable.
