COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: New stout is a dark beer with a light sweetness and a fresh bitterness. The ingredients are Danish pilsner malts, münchener malts, caramel malts, colour malts and aroma hops. The beer is inspired by the traditional Irish Stout but with a more subtle flavour and aroma. The beer is brewed with a traditional lager yeast. The beer is excellent as a cold refreshment but also deserves to be enjoyed with food. Goes well with spicy food.

Gylden mørk brun med beige tynt skum. Karamell, honning og lukt av blomster. Lite smak i denne, men noe karamellsødme. Minimalt med bitterhet. Lite kullsyre. Kort

Very dark brown body with a small, very light-brown head that reduces to a fully lasting and fully covering film quite quickly, good lacing. This beer is very gently roasted, this is not what I’m after when I order a stout. However, it’s a fairly good generic dark ale, with at least as much dark dried fruits as roasted stout like elements. In the aroma I also get dark caramel and in the far back I get some unpleasant notes of butter. Light body, dry texture, moderate to soft carbonation. Calling this a stout is stretching the stout style quite a bit.
[50 cl bottle, enjoyed 11 months before BB date, from a random bar in DFDS Pearl Seaways, enjoyed in my bunk bed in the crappy cabin number 5105. I’ll never travel monkey class again.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish black with tiny white head. Aroma is roasted malt, red apples, raisins, copper. Taste is medium sweet and light acidic. Body is watery to light oily with strong carbonation. Finish is medium long with notes of oatmeal, roasted malt, red coffee and faint hints of grapefruit. A bit thin.

50cl bottle. Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark dried fruits, caramel and a hint of vanilla. Sweet and a bit thing. Weak flavours and doesn’t feel like a stout at all. Drinkable, but quite a disappointment.

Malty vaguely sour aroma with hints of brown sugar, caramel and figs. The taste is malty with the same flavors that are on the nose and with a light bitterness. Quite okay medium beer but a bit thin, and I would not call it a Stout!

Nutty brown, off-white head. Unsignificant slightly roasted caramel-aroma, weak hints of cocolate and nescafe. Taste is somewhat unfocused, watery, malty, bready with coffee-notes and a short mediumdry finish. Very low on hops, albeit a herbal note in the mouth. A strange slick mix between a dark czech lager and a Kilkenny. Not much stout, though, and more dusty than new in appearance.

0.5 L bottle, enjoyed @Navigator Bar, DFDS Crown of Scandinavia. Low creamy greyisjh-blond head. Brilliant, dark mahogny colored body. Modest aroma of bready dark malts, caramel and roasted nuts. Taste is fairly clean malty. Light sweet, light roasty, with faint peppery caramel. Body strenght is light plus. Slick mouthfeel Short clean finish with roasted endnotes. Not quite there, good drinkability though.
