3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
The minibar in my DFDS cabin wasn’t cold enough to lower the temperature of this beer by the correct amount, so I had this one at close to 15ºC, which was far too warm. It pours a black body with a slightly fizzy, smallish and short-lived beige head. Moderate aroma of roasted malt, milk chocolate and mild butterscotch. Strong flavour of roasted malt, brown sugar, dark dried fruits and the Skands sweet alcohol signature. Moderate to heavy sweet taste with a light bitter finish. Full body, soft carbonation. Not too bad, but not a beer I will buy again. Nice view of the Kategatt, though.
[50 cl bottle, from the taxfree of DFDS Crown]

(6) On the light side for a porter. Not too much aroma or sweetness. But there is a fine balance. A nice porter. A little bit of iron / metal taste that follows with the after taste. A good beer though.
