3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Draught at MacKinlay’s, Stockholm, 10 Oct 2007) Dark amber colour, almost mahogany (same colour as the bar actually), frothy beige head. Fruity nose with notes of dark fruit, orange and earthy hops. Fruity taste with dark fruit, orange marmalade and balanced notes of earthy hops in the finish. Some sweetness. Nice beer with a fine english style hop character.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2008 Draught at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Brownish pale amber, firm head. Rich flowery hop aroma with a touch of grapefruit. Dryish and lightly caramelly. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Citric, flowery hops are quite dominant and lead to a finish with light resiny bitterness. The clean mouthfeel leaves a void, the flavours fade too quickly throwing the beer somewhat out of balance. A flavourful American style premium bitter. I’d like more depth in the malt department and less clean crystal malt character for it to work as a warming autumn beer.
