omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden May 30, 2008 Updated: Sep 4, 2008Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse 68 and cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Lightly hazy deep golden. The keg version has a firm small head. Grainy nose with grassy hops. Where the keg version is dry and crisp the cask version is more sweet. It’s freshly hoppy with lots of hay-like hops and has a lovely chewy malt character. Salty bitter finish. A very drinkable English style ale. I probably prefer the keg version in this case, as it feels much drier. Crosling (1660), Loveland, Colorado, USA May 20, 2008 Cask, Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden. Dark yellow, light golden beer. Clean, fresh malt extraction in the nose, biscuit and bread like, with grassy and lemon like hops. Fresh, well extracted malts, non-husky malts, some grassy hops. A well balanced, very nice beer. Svesse (1811), Hässelby, Sweden May 19, 2008 (Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm) Pale copper colour with foamy, white head. Fruity nose with citrus (lemon and grapefruit). Fruity taste with notes of orange, lemon and grassy, slightly soapy hops in the finish. Rather sweet, almost cloying finish. Nice citussy hop character, but too sweet for me. Lacking some balance. ante (2525), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 30, 2008 Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a clear golden colour with a small creamy lasting white head. Rich hoppy aroma of lemon, grass, grapefruit-skins and hay with undertones of straw. Medium-bodied with strong hoppy flavours of grapefruit-skins, lemon-zest and wet grass with subtle notes of vanilla cookies. Long lemony and grassy bitter finish.
