COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wolfgang’s German Style is brewed in small batches using Hersbrucker hops, pure water, yeast and malted barley. It is distinctively full bodied; smooth and exceptionally tasteful to the pallet. Cold filtration ensures an all natural, great tasting beer.

Uninteresting gold pour with nondescript head. Strong sweet hop scent. Very thick deep mouth. Unique dry hops taste. Actually rather nice.

I have not tried this beer since 2004, but comes in the Ontario Craft Brewers 2010 Holiday pack. Pours a golden colour with a slight haze and not filtered to the max. Small white cap that does not stay long, but creates wavy lacing. Interesting grainy smell that is mild and comes out way more in the taste. Not your typical grain malt taste making this one, not your typical German lager (but interesting).

probstblueribbon (2916) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 9, 2010
341 ml bottle in an OCB 6-pack from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass. 04DE10.

App.: Clear golden with a nice bright white foam. Aroma: Clean biscuit malt with celery tops, green, grassy hops, a vegetal note (other than the celery), minerals, light and clean. Palate: Medium body and carbonation. Flav.: Biscuit malts, green leafy hops, a touch of fruitiness, a touch of minerals; simple but clean.

Boring, but not badly brewed.

Grassy nose, cooked veggies. Sweet corny malts, bitter sweet finish. Overall very corny, and quite sweet.

Bottle. Dirty yellow with a fair head. Aroma of bread and light lemon. Tastes like dishwater and stale bread soaked in lemon juice.

I’m so disappointed that I bought 6 of this crap. Maybe my wife will want to try it. Pours a dark golden yellow with no head. Aroma is, and I kid you not, my son’s urine soaked diaper. I know this smell well and well this is it. Taste is some malt, I can’t find any hop, mainly just wet newspapers.

(Rating #2729)

Invitingly malty and fruity aroma with a pleasant edge. like fresh multi grain bread. Taste follows aroma, with nice finishing flourishes of sweet grain caramel and apple. Very carbonated and large bubbles make it spritzy and gassy, however this is much more smooth and well put-together than perhaps some may admit. The malt profile with a hind of grape is very authentic.
