2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 CornishRob (10) - wadebridge, - AUG 23, 2005Another unremarkable offering from new cornish brewer Skinners. Easy drinker, innofensive enough, but my pallete likes a challenge. It’s no Doom Bar, but what else is these days?

Tasted 19/4/2013 draught "The Rock Inn", Roche, Cornwall. Poured a clear amber colour with a few bubbles for a head but laced OK. Aroma faintly of malt if anything at all. Taste of sweet malt and an ever so slight hops bitterness - not much at all, just light tasting. Light body. Smooth, soft, nice easy to drink.

Good beer, cousin brings a create up from the brewery each christmas, gets a bit heavy after a while but you don’t normally drink it after a Christmas dinner!
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 AleTsar (1331) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 7, 2013
Cask @ Haymarket, Edinburgh [050213]
Golden amber, clear, thin whiye head with some lacing. Eggy nose, some sulphur, hint of malt, poor aroma. Taste of fairly sweet pale malts, dull citrus fruit, slight honey, some bitter hops, very average. Palate - thinnish body, little oily, bit sticky. Finish has some sweet malt, fairly metallic tail and a touch dry.
Overall - Not keen on egg smells from beer - this just wasn’t a good beer
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jaguarxj6 (22) - chesterfield, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - FEB 4, 2013
Cask @ Blue Stoops Chesterfield. A league debut for this one and it made a good impression. Nice caramel and fruity taste with a head that goes the distance. Served in pristine condition, which always helps. Always been more impressed with clotted cream than Cornish beers, until now. A good effort from Skinners.
1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 jackl (2568) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2013
Cask @ some random pub in Stockwell. The pour’s deep brown with a small head. The nose is strong eggy sulphur. Maybe there’s something else to the aroma, but the sulphur dominated the nose to such a degree that I didn’t want to investigate further. The taste is more eggy sulphur, some brown bread, twigs, red fruits. Slightly oily body, fine carbonation. Clearly this is in rough condition (I hope!). Overall, a real disaster of a beer. Flagged for re-rate.

Cask conditioned handpump Golden Lion Wellingborough 30/08/12. An orange gold coloured beer with a white bubbly head. A bit of orangey hop aroma in the nose. A grainy crunchy malt taste. Nicely balanded. Pretty good.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Beer3000 (3722) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 8, 2012
Cask @ King William IV. Dark golden body with a small white head. Aroma is light malt and fruit, but also a hint of “sour” yeast and rubber. Flavor is soft and light malt with moderate bitterness. Flavor is better than aroma, but I’m afraid this was not in the best state. Medium body. Drinkable but is probably meant to be fresher.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vladivostok (156) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2012
Medium bitter colour and reasonable head retention. Nice English style hop aroma and distinct biscuity malt flavour leading in to a good, long bitter finish. One of the better Cornish ales.
