A golden orange coloured beer with a weak white head. A light citrus nose is followed by a sweet biscuity malt aroma. A dry citrus fruit flavour accompanied by the sweet cracker biscuit malty element from the aroma. The finish is dry with a hint of spice. (Cask - The Fox & Hounds, Heacham, Norfolk).

1. Cask Stillage at the Memorial Hall, Northwich 20/09/2003
Clear golden coloured and slightly sweet on the palate. Malt and hops in the finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Penny Black, Northwich (JDW) 28/06/2005
Clear golden coloured with a fruity aroma and some sweetness. Slightly dry wheaty flavoured finish.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Nekronos (3184) - Xalapa, MEXICO - FEB 6, 2006
Not bad, for being a Wheat Ale. It had some interesting flavors in it, but defenitely not a Hefe Weizen.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JonMoore (1581) - Loughborough, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 23, 2005
Bottled Cornish wheat beer; clear, golden, with a rocky white head. Some fruit and hops in the aroma with background sweetish malts. Taste is not too bad; a nicely drinkable, fruity, hoppy, citrusy and spicey blond beer. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated.
Not really a Xmas beer, but you have to be adaptable in this game!
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 harrisoni (10909) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2005
Cask at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Well this won’t be worrying our continental cousins in terms of wheat beer. Blond citrus and hoppy with some lemon and some banana fruit with a dry hoppy finish but none of the other traits you would expect from a white beer. Inoffensive enough
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - JUL 27, 2005
Cask conditioned @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton (27/07/05). Despite a recent refurbishment at this JDW they are up to their old trick of running cask lines through the lager chiller, personally I dont like my beers that cold even lagers, but anyway. Zesty hops, yeast and a light fruity bite. Fairly pleasant but would benefit from a cleaner more assertive profile.

Cask. Pale beer (only a slight hint of wheatness) with a light aroma and watery lighlty hopped flavour. Overall quite a plain beer.

Not a brilliant blonde - Astringent quality in the finish. Sharp and yeasty.

Gravity at Olde Dolphin Inn Beer Festival, Derby as Skinner’s Cornish Blonde. Hazy gold, lemony fruitish, bit of wet wood about the finish, thinnish but fun.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2004
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2005 Yep, mine was sold as Cornish Blonde too, and its listed in the 2004 GBG under that style. My guess is that the name has been changed, but the website (which still has Summer Blonde listed, but not Cornish Blonde) has not been updated. A rather nice beer in my view. Slightly hazy golden colour. Light carbonation. Plenty of aromatic sappy hops in the aroma. The palate has lemon and spices. Obvious US hop influence. Clean and crisp. All you could really ask for in a summer quaffing wheat beer, but quite nice on a cold March evening too. Just the slight lack of definition in the finish prevents a higher mark. 500ml bottle from orchard-hive-and-vine.co.uk
