A Mes rate. Cask at the Queens Head, Chelmsford. Bright citric hoppy aroma with some very faint peaty notes. Very clean mid gold with a thin white head that lasts reasonably well. Lovely creamy bitter hoppage in the mouth. Very grassy and floral. Slight bacon in the finish. Interesting and enjoyable. Certainly one of the better beers from this brewer.

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a small head. Nose isnít strong, some citrus and resinous hops, pleasent enough. A bit sweet and a light bitter finish with some citrus on the aftertaste. Goes down easy. Body is a bit light and a tad watery, but a spot on beer for drinking in the sun.

Bottle. Pours a medium orange colour with a thin white head. Plenty of wheat and fruit in the aroma. The taste is all citrus with a hint of peach that leads to a dry bitter finish.

Very nice indeed. Slighty sweet, slightly wheaty, slightly meaty. I was in my car today, on my way to tescos in Truro to buy a bottle of this very ale, when i drove past the Skinners Brewery itself?! How sppoky is that! Donít like the sound of those yank hops though? Whatever next?

Cask conditioned Handpump Malt Shovel Northampton. A blonde coloured beer with a whitish head. A slightly sweet aroma with hints of honey. Some oranges in the mouth with yet again a honey sweetness. A reasonable beer with good length but the sweetness is a little off putting.

Bottle, filtered but not pasteurised, from that post office just before Landís End. Bright gold with a slick creamy foam and a few frills of lace. Grassy hop, tea and toffee, lime and wholemeal aroma. Slight and soapy with dabs of grass and lemon, loitering almond/oak tones as it wams, no real malt (or wheat) presence, for that matter. Pleasant, passed me by a bit...
