"A strong, clean tasting Golden Beer that's not too sweet and with a fresh flowery aroma."

Cask, handpump @ the Red Lion (Iím quite sure?), Helston, Cornwall.
Slightly hazy, orange gold in body with a stirred up, bubbly white head that drabbed foam down the glass. Short-lived burst of grassy, raspy hops, salt and yeast in the aroma. Flavoursome enough in the mouth. Quite a fresh palate dominated by tangy grapefruit, lemon and lime flavours with just a touch of pale malt and pasty yeasty notes that added body and smoothness to the flat mouthfeel. Gently bitter and grassy on the swallow but quite short in length. Very refreshing, light session ale. 5,4,6,3,14
Bottle, the Lizard point general store, The Lizard, Cornwall.
Lovely, bright sunny gold with fine carbonation raising up to a short film of white that left some good legs. Hint of salt and seaweed in the aroma atop some fresh pine and grass. Sweet caramel upfront in the mouth before drying out well. Light in carbonation showing off some grapefruit, lemon rind and palest malt flavours before finishing off crisp and short in the swallow. Fairly easy to drink though I found it to get heavy as the pint progressed. Nice. (50cL, 21/09/07) 6,3,7,3,14

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2007 All to add is an excellent ale. From bottle. Good crisp fruity aroma of sweet pears maybe. Clear golden appearance with a decent head. Very nice smooth texture with a fruity taste. Not much left on the palette. Overall I enjoyed this beer a lot. A very good refreshing ale.

Cask @ Cove Bar, Covent Garden. A rounded beer with a little grapefruit in the taste which wasnít offensive, then lemons. Dull looking, orangey golden body with a reasonable head.

I have been after this one for a while, and not because of the label. But it was a little sweet, not annoying in bitterness.

Cask, The Cove, Covent Garden: Slightly hazy amber with a white foamy head. Orange hoppy aromas with lots of fresh floral notes. Hops flavours to the front with oranges with some slight caramel sweetness and some pleasant resiny flavours. A slightly chalky mouthfeel works well here. This is nice, but I canít help but feeling that it isnít quite all together.

Light hop nose, pale straw color, fluffy head. Eggy, vegetable component in the flavor profile that I just canít get past. Thin swilling beer really. Didnít care for this one at all.

Cask (handpump) at The Cove, Covent Garden. Mid gold colour, with a slight haze. Fair amount of grassy hop in the aroma. On the palate its clean, dry and mildly citric, but thereís not really too much happening. Not as aromatic as I would like in a golden ale, but perfectly pleasant drinking. The St Austell Tribute, in a similar style, was better on the day.

Cask handpull the Cove - what a fabulous day: Dark golden color, small frothy head - very nice looking. Not much carbonation. Nice grassy nose and taste - light all in all - but very pleasant.
