3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beer No 31 on the Wilsons’ Road Trip 2005. Cask at Budock Vean Hotel, nr. Falmouth. Didn’t expect to find a decent pint at this 4 star hotel, so pleasantly surprised. Golden amber, white head. Peachy hop, caramelly malt in aroma. Firm mouthfeel with little carbonation. Good hoppy finish. Very enjoyable pint.

not impressed with this beer. This brewer excels in making middle of the road, on the fence unremarkable beers. This one is kinda corny / strawish which is nice for horses but not i. I also got a very unpleasant dryness from it. I should have paid more attention to the pumpclip which thankfully would normally be enough to put all but the blind off.

Light amber to orange coloured, thin foamy layer, lacing; floral hoppiness in the nose, traces of malts also; nice bitter and distinctive sweet flavour; dry, bitter, floral hoppy aftertaste, not long lasting; very pleasant !

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF, 2004] An Amber beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and hops - and so is the flavor.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hazy amber, light but lasting head. Rather lactic meringous like aroma, floral in a cheesy way almost. Very light flavor overall, tart vegetables, mild citrus. There’s an odd note in there that I’d almost identify as corn, it’s very grainy anyway, yet quite flowery. Definitely not interesting, nor balanced. Lively carbonation, harshly thin, dry.

Floral hops, icing sugar, orange and biscuit aroma. Hazy orange-gold with white head that recedes to decent cover. Slightly spicy hoppiness with some husky finish and a rather perfumey aftertaste. Medium body and engaging in the mouth. Bottle sampled with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Biere de Garde and Various Oddments tasting, #14, with MartinT, Rastacouere and tiggmtl. 500 ml (I think) bottle. Light cloudy gold...malty, fruity and grainy nose...mushy vegetables and grains on the tongue but fairly full-bodied and not devoid of thirst-quenching abilities.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Earthy, green hoppiness amongst the cheesy hay...Grain and butterscotch for a full malt body...Was expecting something completely abhorrent with this label but was pleasantly surprised...
