Just had a pint of this beer at Spoons for only £1.99 so not bad! Its my kind of beer- a strong blonde! Just a shame they served it a bit warm. Would have enjoyed this more if slightly colder! The beer has a floral aroma & quite a sweet after taste!

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pint at Wetherspoons Gateshead, and I donít think it was in prime form. Hazy gold with a thin lasting white head. Not much going on aroma-wise, some cereal, and an unpleasantly sour aftertaste. Even at the top of itís game, I donít think it would be Earth-shattering, but Iíd be prepared to give it another go and re-rate sometime.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Cask at Angleterre, 20120511) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was small, dense and long lasting. Aroma had hops, sweetness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were hops, sweetness, herbalness, grain, malts, citricness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. The grainy part in the taste was a bit disturbing but otherwise a good middle of the road ale.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Yay! Easy drinking goodness. Gold with a small white head. Fruity fruit sweetness, faint spice, cereals, dig the fresh bread. Nice. The fruit and the grains split the aroma 50/50. The taste is pretty good too and Iím glad Iím sitting back taking this one slow as the qualities evolve. A zip from the hops hangs around early on. Light tang of citrus, bread and softness related. Not much to it but tasty with a medium lengthen bitter finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml brown bottle. Pours out clear bright golden colour with a white soapy, foamy head that reduces itself into a fine film. Faint remnants of lacing in the glass. Nose is malty with light fruitiness, substantial caramel sweetness. Taste is grainy, fruity, caramel malts, slight nut, traces of citrus. Some grassy bitterness, traces of lemon and a bit of malt remaining in the aftertaste. Light body, mild carbonation. Has a simple drinkability going for it. An undemanding but decent session brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle pours a pale golden color with a finger of white head that settles slowly to some thin spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of light fruits with some cereal grains and mild grassy hops. Taste is quite malty and fruity sweet with a very mild grassy hop bitterness and a touch of lemon. Light to medium body with light carbonation. Quite a nice ale for the style.

Medium gold with a thin lacy white lasting head. Floral grapefruite hops with citrus lemon. Creamy sticky frothy body with soft carbonation. Sweet notes of caramel, hops, some grapefuit hops malt with a dry bitter finish. Very nice and easy to drink. A great session.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
First tasted this at Esquire house, Glasgow (JDW) in October 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque amber in colour with a thin white head. Short dusty hops present in the mild aroma. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a fruity base of grapefruit and lemon zest full in the mouth. Very slight dusty hop resins detected in the quick aftertaste. Finish is dry with sweetness still present in the citric notes of lemon and grapefruit, really tart in the mouth. An ok Golden Ale and well recommended.
