austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Apr 15, 2003 Amazing! I've chosen this as my 1500th beer because it was so darn good. Tastes of honey and is much like a US micro in its sweetness and drinkability (many UK micros are sort of lame, if I may say so). Truly an achievement. This honey ale is such a delight to the nose and palate that I could drink a cask. Must find a way to order more.
wheresthepath (246), Buckinghamshire, England May 16, 2008 [cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Sweet honey dominates the foretaste, a very ordinary bitter comes through afterwards. Very smooth & easy drinking, yet a little on the bland side. Good balance of sweet and bitter despite the honey. Magic_dave6 (4000), London, Greater London, England Apr 12, 2008 Cask in the counting house. Aroma is honey and pale malts. Taste is similar quite sweet and honey pale malts dominate though the loural hop is tasty. maeib (4000), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Apr 4, 2008 Cask conditioned - handpump - Last Plantaganet, Leicester. A slightly hazy dark gold coloured beer with a white head and lacing. The aroma is mostly hoppy with just a trace of honey. The taste is the same. There are hints of sharp oranges and again just the slightest honey note. Definitely a golden ale with hints of honey rather than a honey beer. Maria (4344), Thisted, Denmark Jan 4, 2008 This is another completely funny label from Skinner! The brew is dark amber with a nice, white head. The aroma has notes of honey, malt and hops and the flavour is delicious with notes of honey, malt, caramel, fruit and hops, fruit and a nice moderate bitterness. Not a piece of art, just a charming, uncomplicated ale, that is very easy to drink. jerryballoono (32), Urgup, Turkey Dec 10, 2007 pint cask @ Rising sun, Kingsand, Cornwall. Golden coloured with white head, fairly sweet with a full bodied taste of the honey, long bittersweet aftertaste. I loved it but doubt if it is to everyones taste.
