Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Pours out in a pale amber colour with a small white foam. Grains, resin, nuts and milky chocolate in the subtle aroma. Mild flavour of milky chocolate, almonds, ryebread, raisins and hay. Light-bodied. Nutty and slightly resiny finish with notes of fudge and hay.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 25 Jan 2008) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with dark fruit, oranges and nuts. Malty taste with dark fruit and oranges, rather modest bitterness in the finish. Malt sweetness shines through all the way. A decent bitter, but not really exciting.

Cask conditioned @ South Western Arms, Soton. Thin caramel with a little bit of tangy hop in finish. Not in best condition. (Av rating given).

Bottled. Just on the brown side of amber, light semi-lacy white head. Malt and honey aroma, perhaps wild hops as well. Easy drinking, silky mouth feel. Not so bitter, bitter, which is short on the palate but very easy to drink.

500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.2%. Some of the profits of the sale of this beer benefits the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Clear deep golden to amber colour, big white head. Very moderate aroma, stale water and dusty attic, a hint of honey and caramel comes through as the beer warms up. Flavour is moderately hoppy, hints of toffee and biscuits, fairly dry, some fruit in the finish. Nothing offensive in the flavour, this is an easy drinking session bitter, but definitely not a beer that stands out from the crowd. Unremarkable and relatively short aftertaste.

Is it me, or do all the beers from this brewery basically look and taste the same? Amber-brown color, rich caramelly nose, that is surprisingly a bit vinous. The mouth starts earthy, then caramel malty flavors. Malty dry finish
