COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Occasional;
Skinnerís Brewery is launching a new, special edition ale for the summer, named after a popular Cornish surfing break, featuring hops that have never before been used in the UK. Lushingtons will be available during May, June, July and August in pubs throughout Cornwall and Devon, as well as nationally through wholesalers and pub companies. It is a zingy, straw coloured, fruity pale ale with an ABV of 4.2% using only Cornish barley alongside three unusual hops sourced from the USA ó including Belma, which is a new hop being used for the first time in the UK.

Bottle from Tesco. Pours a clear straw colour with a slight white head. Taste is of oranges and lemons. Light bitterness. A really great tasting, lightish Golden Ale. Very good.

Cask at the Lamb, Chiswick. Dry-bitter, orange juice, spicy bitterness, refreshing, like a cross between a golden ale and a Franconian Kellerbier.

Cask at the Woodmans Rest, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is light citrus hop. The flavour is light bitter with a light watery citrus fruit, light woody hop bitter palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. A fine fruity session ale.

Cask at the Old Contemptibleís; clear golden yellow pour with a creamy white head, aroma has sweet malts, and a bunch of citrus action, taste has grainy malts, tangerine, some fresh baked bread.

Cask, Orange Tree, Chelmsford. Hops sourced from the USA? Really? They didnít use many. Incredibly bright on appearance. Golden lacing. Bog-standard golden ale stuff. Really incredibly grassy on aroma and taste. Off-flavour. Not a clean and well-made hoppy golden ale at all. Lacking of US hops. HELLO, HOPS??

Cask at the Godolphin overlooking St Michaelís Mount. Lovely summery beer, great hint of citrus, nice grassy hop character, extremely moreish and easy-drinking. What an English summer is about.

Cask from the White Lion, Disley, Cheshire, £3.10/pint. Pours golden amber with thick, creamy white head. Loads of fruit in the aroma, and the flavour, mainly grapefruit, orange and lychee. Not surprised to learn thereís Amarillo hops in there. Well balanced, smooth finish. Lovely.

Cask at the Lyndhurst, Reading. Golden-amber with a moderate white head. Honey and caramel malt are more to the fore than the hops, which do still add some orange and tropical fruits. Itís well balanced and easy to drink and probably the best beer Iíve had from this brewer (not that itís up against any strong competition). A decent enough bitter in fact, but not overly memorable.

Towey1989 (1572) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2015
Cask at Skinners Brewery, Truro. A clear golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is fresh of orange, strawberry, straw and floral hops. Taste of straw, orange, subtle lemon, honey, grass and floral hops. Light bodied, flat carbonation and a watery texture. A bittersweet floral finish with subtle fruit sweetness. Very fresh and crisp, similar to a good lager. Very thin and flat though.
