Initial flavours of dulled citrus hops, barley sugar and some corn. Finish was butterscotch sweetness and rather thin.

[Cask at the Monk’s Retreat (JDW), Reading] Gold with a thick white head and a moderate fizz. Flavour of lemon and grass with a little honey. It may be a little watery, but a pleasing light bitterness to finish makes this a good refreshing summer session beer.

Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton 18/04/13. A blonde beer with a white head. Nice citrussy hops with some dry biscuity notes. New Zealand hops seem to shine. Fresh and nicely hoppy. It’s quite good.

Cask, William Rufus Carlisle. Not quite the ’stunning fruit aromas & flavours’ that are described, but a pleasant enough lemon & biscuit aroma & flavour with also a whiff of Burton sulphur. Soft, clean palate with a short & slightly thin finish. More biscuity malt in the aftertaste but not memorable.
