DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 12, 2008 03-Jun-08 (330-ml bottle, stamped 09-02-1007: Purchased 12-May-08 for $1.79 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Whether this date stamped is the bottling date or expiration date, this vaguely malty beer tastes like dough and cardboard. Hops actually does seem to contribute a little to the entry flavors too, as well as some very mild bitterness, but as soon as the beer is swallowed, the adjuncty and cardboardy finish is not pleasant and inspires one to eliminate the flavor quickly, whether with another sip, or preferably with some toothpaste. The mildly biscuity nose is marred by aromas of cooked meat, wet hay and cardboard. Light in body, medium in carbonation, and stale on the palate, this beer lacks the refreshing quality that is demanded of the style. Pale-yellow and perfectly clear with no carbonation bubbles rising through the beer. Small, wafer-thin head is whitish in color and settles quickly to a bubbly ring. Not an enjoyable beer, but let’s just say I’ve had worse. unclemike (374), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Aug 6, 2008 Very pale lager slightly sour tasting with a dry malt finish definitely some lemon otherwise a pretty blah beer phishpond417 (1459), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 6, 2008 Pours straw yellow, almost clear body, medium sized head. Plenty of barley aroma, and a very grainy texture. Not very pleasent or unique, just another pale lager. nick76 (2054), Tampa, Florida, USA May 31, 2008 The aroma is a little sweet corn malt (reminds me of marshmallows. The appearance is pale gold with a small head. The flavor is neutral with a sweet malt. The palate is thin. This is pretty much a forgettable beer. TPaliga (212), Munster, Indiana, USA Apr 11, 2008 Fizzy yellow beer. Much sweeter than it should be...must be the caramel. Not a whole lot going on here. A drainpour for me...
