1.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
bottle labeled "Skol beer". I can only assume this is the same beer in question here. the label says it was brewed in Izmir, Turkey and imported to the US by Carlsberg. oddly enough the label also has the word cerveza on it. pours a flimsy yellow color with nearly no head. smells like corn and sugar. sort of like a bowl of corn pops. little to no carbonation bubbles. tastes of corn with only the slightest hint of malt. very astringent. not really one to recommend.

I could taste the caramel, it was smooth and low carbonation and apparantly even lower alc.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
330 ML bottle from Turkey, Aroma, though barely there, was of bread dough. Pours clear-gold with moderate white head. Some hop flavor, with more malt than I expected from the nose. Thin, though not quite watery on the palate.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse, 11.2 oz bottle. Labeled as "Skol Beer" and bottled in Turkey. Medium golden pour, no head, neutral aroma with some metallic industrial-like notes. Bland lager flavor with some hair tonic and pepper and finishes dusty and worn out with some stale soggy cereal notes. Harsh mouthfeel, slightly oily. Not one for the ages.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle... Clear yellow lager with a mid-sized, fizzy, white head. Good retention. Spicy, hot-pepper aroma with cereal grain notes. Well-balanced flavor provides lightly sweet pale malt and mildly bitter, spicy hops. Medium-bodied with intermediate carbonation. Short, crisp finish.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle: Pours a boring yellow. Head evaporates instantly. Nose of brake fluid and apples. Tastes of apples and sweet lager. I thought Iíd score Turkey with this one but it seems not to be. Pure boredom.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
330 ml. bottle, freshness date on the back label, sampled in a standard bar pint glass, on special at an Old Chicago. Another Turkish EPL, letís see how it goes.
Crystal clear, sort of a rust hued lager golden, the light is not very good in here, tight fizzy foam white head that slowly settled into a thin sudsy lacing.
I will say it smells like an EPL, mainly grain and old musty hops, a light citrus way in the background, traces of salty mineral water, not that impressive.
The mouthfeel is like heavy water, like some European mineral waters Iíve tried over the years, so I guess you could say this is as smooth as water. Basically a bland and boring taste, there are some mineral touches, like a special water source, but I have a feeling itís just old pipe. A thin graininess along with a watery pale malt sugariness. A little wet paper too. Very subtle lemon honey flavor that meshes with the herbal hops, the hops finish with a mild spiciness.
As far as Euro Pale Lagers go, this is below average, one and Iím done.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Golden color with a medium sized white head that didnít last at all. Settled into a light and uneven sheen of white on top of the body. Flavor is crisp and somewhat tart with a bit of metal. If caramel is an ingredient it was not tasted in my sample. Plenty of grass, though. Not the least bit interesting.
