Caskalefan (26), Bellingham, Washington, USA Mar 16, 2007 Nice, smooth, typically grapefruity Northwest IPA.. Decent body, nice aroma, and pleasant going down, just nothing really special about it.
BillKismet (1443), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 8, 2008 Tangerine-colored bomb in a glass with a firm, tan head. Piquant hop aromas of pine and grapefruit, tightly wound together with touches of caramel and alcohol. On the first sip, the beer surprises with a well-rounded fruity-hop bouquet with orange, tangerine, apricot and a squirt of grapefruit. Perhaps deserves a better rating. Good all around. Caramel malt sweetness merges well with the fruity, ctirus hops. Angeloregon (2002), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 1, 2008 On tap at Trumpeter’s Ale House in Mount Vernon, WA--Poured a bright orange-amber body with a handsome fluffy white head. Nose of strawberries and lush citrus fruits. Quite unique scent. Very delicious. Great hoppy presence with a well balanced malt spine. Clean and uber-delicious! fakepurseninja (547), Sammamish, Washington, USA Mar 31, 2007 Rich and smooth IPA - very floral and malty. Sweet citrus hop essence gave me the impression of mandarin and ripe grapefuit. Very nice IPA. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Mar 21, 2007 Preliminary notes (1st batch), Skookum taproom: Somewhat chunky (high cohumulone) bitterness. Woody hop character. Malts have a hint of darker breadcrust, and might be a bit husky. Brewer indicated he’d probably be dry-hopping this in the future and I figure that’s a good idea as the bitterness is nice but the aroma is a bit light on the hops for the style ’round here. Will revisit in the summer.
