1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours a hazy yellow color, topped with a small and not really lasting white foam. Artificial lemony nose, very mild almost completely absent. Sweet and sugary with a hint of fruitiness. Typical for what it is. Ice cold is refreshingly drinkable.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cloudy yellow, diminishing white head. Typical lemon detergent aroma, not to aggressive, closer to lemon juice with some herbal notes. Not to much carbonation, juicy texture. Light sweetness, some citric sourness. Quite pleasant.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
The beer has a typical radler appearance. The color of the beer is a pale yellow with a little white glow. The beer is very cloudy. Some bubbles can be seen rising towards the top. Hardly any foam is formed. The little amount of foam that does firm is white and rough and collapses quickly. The smell is simple. There is just a bittersweet and sour aroma of lemon and a tiny beery bitterness. The lemon aroma is quite natural, but there are more natural radlers. The taste is the same. Nice bitterness, nice sour and nice fruity sweetness. I like this radler, especially on this hot day.

Fruchtig süß-säuerlicher Antrunk, zitronig. Leichte Herbe, die aber eher von der Limonade als vom Bier kommt. Spritzig, dumpfer Hintergrund. 9/8/7/6/7/7

50cl can from a Minimarket in Skopje. Fruity and citrussy aroma that yet again reminds me more of soda than beer. In fact not much that reminds me of beer at all, but as a soda it’s kind of refreshing and fairly drinkable.

Naprawdę niezły radler, całkiem blisko mu do Ciuc Radlera z Rumunii. Ten macedońsi radler był zbawieniem dla mnie i moich znajomych podczas pobytu w tym kraju.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can from a small store in Ohrid old town. Pale yellow in colour with a slight green tint, and a small white head. Aroma of lemon, grass and sugars. Taste is bittersweet, very lemony. Sweet finish, average carbonation, thin body. As a low ABV alternative to a standard lager on a hot day in Ohrid it did its job.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I will disagree with most serious beer drinkers on this, but I found this rather pleasing. I begin in liking the hazy grapefruit-juice appearance: if you put this in front of a beer geek and told them it is Cantillon, they would give this appearance a 4 or 5. On its merits, it looks inviting. The aroma is heavily lemon and soft-drink like, that is true. In the flavor, there’s a mix of things, but it leans to the fruit. Yet, there isn’t a great deal negative, and that’s something, given how difficult it has been to enjoy the beers of the Balkans. Sweet, to be sure, but not sugary / over the top, and enough tingling carbonation to keep it from getting syrupy heavy in mouthfeel. This is quite a bit more drinkable than the other beers I’ve had around here, so I’ll take it. And it didn’t hurt that I drank this after a long hike, Matka Canyon to Mount Vodno. Can, bought at the Taftalidze Vero.
