22nd May 2010. ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting! Hazy dark amber beer. No head. Crisp light palate. Tangy fruit here as much as coffee. Finishes light with red fruit and more coffee. Two unusual bedfellowes well balanced here. Unusual. Nice!

Expecting more complexity from a coffee stout. Good coffee taste though. A bit yeasty

Bottled. Pours opaque black with a medium sized beige head with fair lacing. Nose of toasted malt and coffee notes. Slightly sweet flavor with again coffee notes + licorice, that ends up quite dry. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft CO2. An OK stout.

This was just not What I expected. The beer pours a murky Brown with little to no head at all leaving no lacing. It smells pretty nice. Dark malt, Coffee, Sweet Caramel, toffee and a bit of a sourish tang as well. I thought this was really stange and interesting. The Taste is where it takes a turn for the worse. The coffee is there as expected but then there is a tart dryness that takes over until the bitter coffee aftertaste comes back, but not in a good way. This is rather thin bodied and like no other Stout I have ever tried. Although it was very interesting I have no interest in seeking this out or trying it again.

Tart flavor with a finish of coffee. it is unknown whether the beer was infected, or it is meant to bee that the beer tasted so sour.
