COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Deep black, small but creamy off white head. Malty aroma. Semi complex flavour with more malty sweetness, licorice and some odd spicyness. Soft carbonation. Somewhat bitter and unpleasant finish.

500. Thanks, Maria! Pours deep black with a thinnish, moussy, off-white head. Big indistinct nose of roast and a bit of sour. Sour creamy sour? Not sure. Tingly sharp carb on the attack, medium body, nice roast-forward flavor profile. Fairly nondescript mid-palate, really, some roast and grain husk and sour. Not much finish. Interesting to see what’s pouring on the other side of the pond.

Bottle. Black color with a small frothy fair lacing mostly diminishing beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, light perfume, moderate to heavy licorice, notes of stinging nettle. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat.

50 cL bottle (nr 805). Pours black with a light brown head, quickly disappearing but leaving some lacing. Aroma is yeasty/fruity, roasted malt, distinct note of liqourice and a soft coffee note too. Flavour is first fruity and tart bitter, followed by a soft sweet malty note before the liqourice kicks in. Finish is a soft blend of malt, bitterness and liqourice, but it also has a odd herbal note (braendenaelder?)

Small beige head on a dark brown body. Malty roasty aroma. The flavor is slightly medicinal. Quite odd and way too much liquorice for my taste. Thin aftertaste for a stout.
