4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
I would encourage anyone who likes a stout to try this beer. My opinion is that this is one of the finest stouts around. This beer is everything I think a stout should be. Appearance is a bit intimidating because it looks so dark and rich but the aroma and flavor are smooth and complex. I experienced vanilla, caramel, chocolate and just enough roast barley to balance everything out. I didn’t note any buttery off flavors at all.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tap @ Sky High... Poured pitch black with a thick, eggy, off-white head. Nose contained an off butterscotch note. Very pronounced and awkward. Total diacetyl bomb. Tasted of salted, buttered popcorn and butterscotch. Some roast, and a mild bitterness to try and redeem itself, but overall I couldn’t get through my full pint of this stuff. Probably rushed, hopefully they’ll dial this in. The Pils and regular IPA from their taster tray were solid. Hoping they can make this RIS as clean as those two beers,

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
An Imperial Stout should not be ’easy drinking’ like a pale lager and this is not. Black pour with medium beige head. Aroma is molasses and roast malt, almost roast sugar if such a thing exists. Malty flavour with no trace of alcohol. Nutty and malty finish.
