COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sky River Raspberry Honeywine places the full beauty of summer on display. The warming notes of honey are offset by the dark drama of the Raspberries to create a lush, soulful wine. The versatility of this wine is amazing. Serve Sky River Raspberry Honeywine beside a refreshing Spinach, Feta and Pear Salad, accompanying a Pork Roast and Berry Chutney, or along with a rich Cheesecake, and the company of good friends.

I like my meads sweet. This is very tart and thin. Interesting and the tart raspeberry is an interesting interplay on the soft sweetness, but I won’t head back for more considering the range of Meads available. Short finish.

Bottle at the meadery
Ruby color, very bright. The aroma is mild, more berry-prominent and less vinous than the Blackberry. Semi-sweet mead, with evident raspberry juice, and some of the pungent character typical of raspberries, providing the necessary acidity too; light final tartness.
Very good, but the blackberry is more elegant.

Smells like raspberry honey. Flavors of rose wine, honey, raspberry, and sour/tart fruit. Very interesting. I like.

MeadMe (1089) - Riverview, Florida, USA - APR 7, 2011
Pours a nice wine color of red. Aromas of mildly tart red berries and hints of light honey. Good balance here. The berries are on the tart side for sure, they cut through the sweetness of the honey making this one quite addictive. The marriage of honey and fruit is nice.

750 ml. bottle- Pours ruby red raspberry, aroma is vinegar similar to wine with over ripe fruit such as strawberries or raspberries. The flavor is all raspberries, alcohol, medium body, tasty. I could find nothing wrong with this mead, but I don’t think thats enough to get a perfect or even close to a perfect score, I think that it needs to be an exemplary example of the style to deserve a perfect score in any of the categories. My struggle was I don’t have enough experience with Mead to even know what an outstanding Mead tastes like, I just did the best that I could.

750 ml bottle poured into wine glass, shared. Drank 8/29/10. Aroma is a little subdued at first, but opens up quite a bit as it warms. Raspberries and faint honey are the obvious (and only) aromas. Pours a cranberry red hue. Taste is sweet and sour with little bitterness. Nice pronounced honey flavor intermingles with the raspberry for a nice, round, full-bodied mouthfeel. Somewhat syrupy, like honey. Delicious.
