kimcgolf (824), Dacula, Georgia, USA Sep 29, 2009 Poured a slightly haxy reddish orange with thin off white head that lingers well into the glass as a thin ring atop. Nose is hoppy citrus fruit and apples, and the mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly tingly. Flavor pisks up the hoppy fruit of the nose and the finish is tart and dry, yet a little short.
I apparently think more of this beer than most raters, but I thionk it would make a good session beer. Saarlander (1577), Saarlouis, Germany Sep 1, 2009 Bottled from Total wine,RC,Ca. Nice amber pour, small head, some citrus flavor to begin with, not too sweet, malts are there, balanced well, some metalic flavor, nice hoppy finish, ok brew for the style! Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 30, 2009 Bottle 35,5 cl. Slightly hazy amber golden with a dense beige head. Sweet aroma of caramel and malt. Hop aroma. Golden coloured and slightly rich on the palate with some bitterness in a crisp malt finish. JohnnyJ (1283), Carlsbad, California, USA Jun 29, 2009 On tap at the SD International BeerFest 09. Clear copper pour, small off-white head. Malt, nuts, caramel, light hops. Pretty boring, not much going on here. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Jun 17, 2009 Bottle from Hollingshead: Created a short lived head that was fizzy and ended up leaving the beer naked of any foam. Appeared as a dark burnt orange color with slow carbonation bubbles rising to the top. Nose is malty an nothing more worth me spending time sniffing out or recalling vague memories in my brains scent data base. The palate is overly fizzy and unpleasant to the point it feels like a 7-up and the flavor is just horrible. Taste has a minor background of malt but other than that taste like a Budweiser that has been stored in the freezer for a few days then thawed and then drunk.
