Bottle. A hazy, golden beer topped by a dense, white head leaving lacings. The aroma is pretty weird, seems to mostly on the malty side. White sugar and a fruityness too. The flavor has the same strange maltyness, but less. Dried fruits, white sugar and a spiced hint in the flavor. Full to medium body, pleasant carbonation, quite dry. Lasting finish. Quite unusual this one, but sort of nice. 140426

Bottle @ ZBF 2009.
Pours lightly muddy yellow with a great, creamy, white head. Aroma is lightly fruity tart, good maltiness and apple. A fine amount of dryish hops. Fat mouthfeel, light carbonation, very nice. Flavour has coriander, apples, malts and a very nice, long, bitter, hoppy aftertaste. Good tripel.

Capped 750 as Organic Tripel from the Whole Foods in Davis, CA. Pours hazy orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of mixed fruit esters. Tangy carbonation. Med body. Flavor is fruit/yeast/spice with perhaps a hint of mustard. Could be banana. Gets pretty tasty as it warms. Nice.

Bio Tripel (One Pint, Helsinki, Belgian Weeks 2009) (6-4-6-3-12=3.1)
Sweet malty aroma, some veg according to Anna. Actually, I get pea soup as well as the grains. Touch of sweetcorn too perhaps. Body quite similar, but vegetal nature too prominent. Hoppiness, however, is quite assertive, and this has a very long biting finish.

Huge, frothy, collapsing dirty white head, leaving some lace over slightly hazy yellow-orange beer with "Grünstich". Caramel, vegetable juice, even insectoid, doubtful white candi sugar, but more and more arachide. Bitterish, arachide, fatty acids, like badly roasted peanuts. Dislike it, the more as all that there is to counterbalance these fatty peanuts, is an undistinct sweetness. Medium bodied, very slick, some alcohol and -warming. Sorry; these fatty acids/peanuts flavour’s something I profoundly dislike. My wife claims MgSO4 (Epsom salts - Burtonising?)
