3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Slaapmutske is one of the new, small breweries in Belgium. And then again, actually not, since it doesn’t have it’s own facilities for brewing. Light golden, hazy beer with an impressive head, that collapses very slowly. Apparently a full-malt beer, and therefore without any spices at all. Which is also unusual for a Belgian. Sweet and not very carbonated with a discreet bitterness, that actually makes for quite a harmonic beer. 020704

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Hazy orange colour with minor white head. Aroma is spices, yeast and overall very meady thing. Flavour is almost the one of a tablebeer, very sweet and spicy. Hides the 6.4% well, considered it was almost like having some dark Tafelbier...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy deep golden color; thick head; nice perlage. Very nice hop aroma, grassy. Smooth in the beginning, dry maltiness later; good balance with the hop. A good Summer beer.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Large white head with good duration. Color is pale golden - close to yellow. Rather weak aroma and taste for a blond. A bit disappointed here.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. It has a yellowish golden body, topped by a medium-sized white head. The aroma has a nice sweetness and fruityness, with pale malt and some spicy notes. Some sweetness, pale malt and a little spicyness in the mouth. I’m sure it would be nice as a summer beer, it’s not as sweet as many blond beers, and quite refreshing. A bit too much alcohol though, even though it’s not much alcohol taste. (080411)
