Bottled. A dark mahogany coloured beer with a thick whitish head and lace with a nice peppering of yeast. A great malty taste with good spicing. Chocolatey, cakey and with saaz like hopping. Aroma is fairly thin and yeasty but the taste is really nice.

Aroma is malts, dark fruit, almost like Christmas cake, and some spices. The flavor is a mix of spices and dark fruit, as well as malts and tropical fruit, possibly tangerine. A lot of the spiced winter ales I’ve had lately have been too spiced but this was balanced pretty well, a good season ale all around.

Bottle from the congress, longton. Pours dark red brown, good carbonation. Dark fruits, toffee, balanced malts. Very good indeed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at a winter beers tasting at Norma Jean. Hazy brown with a beige head. Sweet aroma, candy-ish and fruity, with malt, caramel and some brown sugar. Sweet caramelly flavor with lots of sugary fruitiness and light spiciness towards the finish. Medium-bodied. Not really my thing, but not really bad.

Malt, bread, and yeast in the aroma. More of the same in the flavor, with little chocolate mocha as well. Creamy mouthfeel. This is really good--I liked it a lot better than I expected.

Pours a hazy medium brownish amber color. Aroma is lightly malty, hoppy, yeasty, with a touch of fruit. Flavor is a nice mixture of malts and fruits.
