3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.2 oz bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Viewed as a very dark brown with a huge fluffy pillow of a head. In the nose a nutty and roasted malt aroma takes over the senses and strikes my interest in what exactly does this taste like? The flavor is very mellow and lacks a strong personality but it will allow for a light carrying yeast along with semi sweet malt. A very easy going drink and palate that wasn’t anything special.

Dark brown, almost black coloured beer with a large creamy off-white head. Light roasted malty aroma with hints of caramel, ripe fruits and nuts. Full palate. Finish is light bitter, roasted, fruity witha touch of coffe and light alcoholic hints. Very enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours very dark brown with a large sudsy tan head. The aroma has caramel malt, syrupy sweetness, earthy yeast, some veggie and odd dry spices. Medium smooth lush body with underlying semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts with sweet berries, earthy yeast, rich caramel malt that’s quite creamy, sweet anise and soda qualities. The finish is a bit sour and fruity. An okay, but fairly run of the mill BSA.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A Mes rate: from a 75cl bottle at Kerstfest, Essen.
Standard brown looks with a thin head. Yeast, orange and heavy artificial sweetness in the aroma. Flavour is sweet and yeasty with some harsh bready notes. Nothing special.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In the 750 mL bottle from Beertopia. Extremely dark brown, black perhaps, with a ginormous dark beige head. Aroma of a mincemeat pie. Flavor has lots of dark fruits- raisins and plums. The finish musters up some tobacco-like notes. Not exceptional in any category for $10 a bottle.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
dark, clear beer with brown bubbly head. in bottle. smells like plums and raisins. Sour and sweet, but not yeasty. Perhaps a bit more malt would make for a smoother palate. finish wasn’t quite right - bitter rather than sweet.

#600 - Bottle shared at Dewbrewer’s tasting
Pours a rich dark brown with a creamy foamy tan head. Smells of caramel, raisins and brown sugar. Taste is rich brown sugary caramel and raisins again. Sort of reminded me of St. Bernard. 12, but a bit less carbonated. Alcohol hidden well and was nicely drinkable. Thanks!
