3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottled@Kerstbierfestival 2007, Essen) Very dark brown with a small, tanned head. Yeasty, grainy-roasty-malty, diacetylic aroma. Dark-fruity flavor with diacetyl and yeast. Almost medium-bodied, quite carbonated and acidic palate. Maybe not at its best, and certainly not the most enjoyable Xmas brew around.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Little yellowish head; very dark chestnut beer. Sourish nose, smelling infected, rotting pears, lactic acid. Human sweat, sourish, and a very heavy sweet-bitterish underbuild, spice-laden. And infected. Agressive MF & thinned. Ought not to have been sold. An infected Proefbrouw!!!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
75 cL bottle. Pours murky deep brown with a little lacing off-white head. Mild malty and slight spiced aroma. Flavour is mildly sweetend at first before a mild caramel malt flavour appears before it descents into a mild spice and slight yeasty flavour. I initially sensed some honey like sweetness and herbalness, but that disappears quite quickly again. Finish is mild spiced with a lingering classic belgian mild note of yeast and some malt.

Bottle from WLV, Chicago. Dark brown with beige head. Aroma is a lot of dark fruit and yeasty, some roast. Flavor is prune, raisin, yeast, roast, burnt caramel, not half bad. Medium to full body and well carbonated. Very tasty, reminds me a little bit of delirium nocturnum.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, Blankboy’s bottle. Sugar, caramel sweet aroma. Dark brown, small white head. Decent taste - woody, smoky, dark fruit and malt. Some spice in finish. Not too bad at all, a good night cap after a great tasting.
