4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
If Samiclaus had a light version this would be it....nice blend of spice, malt, Belgian yeast, and ripe fruit. Pours dark amber and dark cherry in a goblet. Well done and easy drinking goodness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from 11.2oz bottle a murky brown with medium sized tan head. Nose is somewhat metallic like steel wool, backed with dark fruit, yeast, and brown sugar. Flavor is roasted malt, caramel, brown sugar, and a little bread. The palate has a short sweetness then a drying yeastiness. The flavor disappears quickly, almost too quickly. The flavor is good but fleeting. Overall decent but could use more spiciness or carbonation to carry the flavor further.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma is a bread like scent with some spicy back tones. Color is solid hazy amber with good carbonation and a thick frothy head. Taste is thin and roasted. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down foamy. Finish comes in with a thin roasted flavor and just a hint of fruity yeast flavor that is followed up by a mellow bitterness. In the after taste the roasted flavor turns sweet then the bitterness comes back leaving it dry. I feel its a little weak for a Belgian Strong but not a bad brew.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had last night at the NorCal tasting. It was an attractive beer in color and head, but I wish I had taken better notes. I just remember that this one was a bit bland and boring. Wish I could be more thorough. :-( Sorry.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle shared by goldtwins. Pours a hazy light brown with light off-white head. Aroma is odd to say the least, with vegetables figuring way too prominently; cabbage comes to mind first. Upon tasting, the vegetables disappear and transform into overly sweet malts and some booziness. Average mouthfeel with a sweet, alcoholic finish. Not a fan of this one.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a hazy bown with a beige head. the aroma had notes of toffee, yeast, and sweet brown sugar. Sweet malt flavor that was very short and followed up by dry yeastiness. Mild to moderate bitterness and some warmth on the finish. Medium bodied.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by Goldtwins. Aroma of bok choy, broccoli, and all sorts of vegetables from my childhood. Potato and Brussels sprouts are also noticed. Very odd. Flavor is a touch harsh, quite a bit different, little in the way of vegetables, with a fair amount of yeast and gritty malts. A bit minerally in the palate, but a pretty tasty beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
From a 330 ml bottlr with an expiration date of of 28/08/09. Pours dark brown with a very puffy tan head. Sweet malted and spicy aroma. Medium mouthfeel. The alcohol kind of overblows the malts in the taste. But I also note a raisiny flavor. I like the spice on this one.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
~ Pours a dark cider brown colour with light brown head. Some lacing
~ A sweet choclatey raisin scent. Malty nose.
~ A sour confectioner choclate taste with raisins. A bit fruity
similar to cherries.
~ Palate is sticky and aftertaste is sweet.
~ This is a fairly decent brew. Seems like its trying to be a sweet
stout, but can’t quite make it.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from The Manchester Winter Ales Festival courtesy of a fine bloke called Winn. It was late in the day so my notes are a little brief. Really enjoyed it. Dark fruit, christmassy type of beer. Belting. Why even read the crap I have to say? Go and drink one.
