Bottle 33 cl, 7.4% abv. Amber colour, very promising xmas-spicy aroma, but it does not deliver. Malty but lacks body, there are other much better belgian xmas ales out there.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Hazy, chestnut-amber coloured, relatively stable off-white head, surprisingly not very sweet toasty-fruity nose, presumably with a faint touch of X-mas spices; moderate sweet-bitter flavour with a faint acidity, relatively slim; slightly drier and more bitter malty and fruity finish. o.K. Ö

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
0.33l bottle. Looks nice in the glass with a big frothy lacing beige head on top of a deep dark blurry amber brown colored body. I like the aroma. Itís really sweet and caramelly with subtle yeasty and spicy hints in the background. A bit of cloves and allspice with pepper and ripe fruits. Nice, classic aroma. In the taste itís definitely on the sweet side. It has a light oily feeling in the mouth and the carbonation level is about average. Lots of sweetness without being cloying. Really malty with a metallic tail that Iím not to found of to be honest. Spices, well, not much really. More yeasty fruity and there is only a subtle hint of the alcohol here. I it hadnít been for that metallic thing in the aftertaste this would have been a nice classic Belgian Christmas brew. 03.11.2013
