330ml bottle somewhere in time. From old notes.
In short: spicy ale.
Some malty, spicy, liquorice aromas. Taste follows the nose. Medium body, average carbonation. Enjoyable.

Bottle 33 cl, 7.4% abv. Amber colour, very promising xmas-spicy aroma, but it does not deliver. Malty but lacks body, there are other much better belgian xmas ales out there.

Dark brown, medium tan head. Aroma malty caramel, dark fruits. Medium body. Lightly carbonated. Pretty sweet. Malty and fruity. Faint spice. Reasonable, not too memorable.

Bottle: Hazy, chestnut-amber coloured, relatively stable off-white head, surprisingly not very sweet toasty-fruity nose, presumably with a faint touch of X-mas spices; moderate sweet-bitter flavour with a faint acidity, relatively slim; slightly drier and more bitter malty and fruity finish. o.K. …

0.33l bottle. Looks nice in the glass with a big frothy lacing beige head on top of a deep dark blurry amber brown colored body. I like the aroma. It’s really sweet and caramelly with subtle yeasty and spicy hints in the background. A bit of cloves and allspice with pepper and ripe fruits. Nice, classic aroma. In the taste it’s definitely on the sweet side. It has a light oily feeling in the mouth and the carbonation level is about average. Lots of sweetness without being cloying. Really malty with a metallic tail that I’m not to found of to be honest. Spices, well, not much really. More yeasty fruity and there is only a subtle hint of the alcohol here. I it hadn’t been for that metallic thing in the aftertaste this would have been a nice classic Belgian Christmas brew. 03.11.2013

Draft at mission Dolores in Brooklyn. Deep dark brown color. Purple kind of with a boozy fruity taste. A kitty watery. Eh ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Grifo. On-tap. Chimay Chalice glass. Enjoyed @ La Més Petita (Barcelona). Pours very dark brown headed by beige foam. Crown is close & leaves a thin lasting layer on top. Spiced –vanilla & anice-, dark fruit, molasses, brown sugar , Belgian yeast & caramel malt aromas. Toasted caramel malt & crispy fruity upfront. Medium to full body. Moderate to soft carbonation. Herbal bitterness & gentle warming alcohol. Flavorful & delicious. ABV is neither harsh nor acidic & sweet maltiness is no cloying so drinkability is pleasant.

33cl bottle served in a Delirium Noel glass. Pours a reddish brown with a plentiful head. Much improved over the standard brune which I didn’t enjoy. Much better body which seems to tone down the carbonation. Nice rich flavour with fruity and spicy notes. Ends quite bitter.

33cl bottle at Zomaar. Dark amber brown with a small off-white head. Light to medium body with ditto carbonation. Sweet with some bitter notes. Caramel, spices and dark fruits. An ok brew, not too special.
