33cl bottle from a beer retailer. It pours a very deep brown liquid with ruby tones with a massive brownish head that lasts throughout the beer leaving a nice lacing (delicious!). The aroma is very intense: malts everywhere, with caramel and some light dark fruits, along with a little herbal touch from the hops. It tastes likewise, with some chocolate notes, very sweet, and a very nice ending, with light-medium bitterness, spices, herbs and some alcoholic hints that don’t spoil the brew. In the mouth it feels full bodied, thick, with mild carbonation. All in all, a 1st class brew, with a cool presentation (but it needs a customized crown cap). Can’t find the speciality to make it a seasonal, though.

Pours a dark brownish copper color w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Superb head retention slowly reducing leaving sticky snail tracks the way down. A thick downy comforter is left to linger the whole drink long. Nice! Aromas of Belgian darkfruits. Full nectar w/ ample residual effers that create an expansive cotton ball texture upon my palate. A big spicey character emerges swiftly stealing my attention away like a needy child. As I regain focus I realize I am in the midst of a fantastic brew of classic proportions. Complex and very refined. Ths brew is not sweet at all. Theres a very mild roast component that reveals a little coffee bean and cocoa. Flavors of plumb, cherry skins, peach, grapes, melon, pine bark, and cakebread. An underlying tartness factors is adding to the generous character this brew affords. The finish is bittered perfectly leaving a slight kiwifruit acidic twitch to ponder. Highly recommended.

Cerveza color caoba. Con espuma cremosa y pegajosa. Muy bonita en copa. Olores a maderas jóvenes y frutas. Cuerpo muy equilibrado y con la perfecta combinación de gas. Muy fácil de beber. Sabores a especias, pimienta, plátano, melocotón. La mejor cerveza de navidad de las que he probado.

Pours a deep dark ruby/chestnut brown color with bright golden ruby edges when held to a light source and a 1.5 finger frothy yellowish beige head with decent retention, slowly fading into a lasting cap that coats a tulip glass with soapy lacing(which is no small feat). Looks incredible. Sweet dark fruit aroma with lots of zesty spice, dark malt and a slight earthy medicinal funk character. Lots of dark fruit especially tart dark cherries, raisin, plum and fig. Sweet caramel malt and subtle medicinal cough syrup. Peppery spice along with what I can only describe as Christmas cake/cookie. Soft carbonation up front giving way to a sweet dark fruit/caramel malt medium body with subtle erthy dry hops and a prominent spice character. The dark fruit is the most prominent flavor with lots of tart dark cherry, plum, raisin, fig and plum. There is also a sweet malt body which is also a touch roasty, providing very good balance. The Christmas pastry charachter from the aroma is again present along with some cinnamon, brown sugar and peppery zest. The medicinal/syrupy cough medicine character which is an unpleasant characteristic of many Xmas beers is very subtle and not cloying at all. There is a lot going on in this beer and might be a bit too sweet for some folks but I’m really digging it. Nicely blanced with an almost undetectable ABV, making it extremely quaffable. Excellent representation of the style and recommended for fans of winter/Xmas beers.

Draught @ Zolder, Bruges. Ruby red and hazy beer with a large head that is creamy and cloudy. The tap was ice cold... The aroma: sweetish berries, darker dried fruits, cloves and aniseed. Not much hops. The flavor is malty, sweetish fruity (raisins, dates), berryish and slightly alcoholic in the finish. Also some sugary sweetness. The palate is medium bodied, soft, velvety and slick. Strong, rich and tasty yet very drinkable and well balanced.

Bottle from Capone’s Belgian X-mas sampler box. How in the heck am I the first to rate this? Anyway, the pour is deep brown with a tan head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, tart cherry, some fig, and some funky yeasty notes. Tastes of pumperkickly caramel malt, with notes of cherry, brown sugar, and spice. Nice balance.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, 5171009 code on cap. Pours very hazy dark red color with a nice 3 finger fluffy khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass, with plenty of streaming carbonation. Aromas of cherry, raisin, prune, caramel, molasses, toffee, nutmeg, clove, pepper, chocolate, biscuit, toast, and yeast spices. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity. Taste of raisin, caramel, toffee, molasses, toast, biscuit, chocolate, nutmeg, pepper, earth, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of dark fruit, molasses, toffee, caramel, toast, biscuit, chocolate, nutmeg, and yeast spices on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of flavors; with no cloying on the finish at all. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a creamy, lightly slick, and slightly prickly mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian Christmas ale. Nicely complex, robust, and balanced; very smooth to drink. Really enjoyable offering.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy fine to medium sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque except at the edges dark red brown colored body. The mild aroma was old ale and caramel malt. The mildly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering dark malt aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of old ale mildly vinous sweet brown malt and caramel. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
