Nightfall (645), Athens, Greece Aug 20, 2009 RBESG Sheffield 2009, day 3, The New Oxford, Manchester. Hazy yellow, medium white head. Lemon aroma, good malt base and a faint sourness in the nose. The flavor was quite sour and unbalanced. Pretty sure it was infected. Magicdave6 (5383), London, Greater London, England Jul 27, 2009 Tap in the new oxford, manchester. Alround rating: Fruity esters, very yeasty, herbal hop, dustyness off the yeast, very unclean. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Jul 26, 2009 Cask at New Oxford, Manchester, RBESG 09... hazy yellow ... nice lemon nose ... light sour fruity hop. Borresteijn (1343), Amstelveen, Netherlands Jul 22, 2009 RBESG Sheffield 2009, day 3, The New Oxford, Manchester. Tap. Must have been infected, although the barman insisted it was in good shape. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of sourness, dusty malts, hint of lemony hops. Flavour is yeasty, light sweet, sour, malty, dry bitter finish. Will definitely re-rate. yobdoog (1417), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Jul 1, 2009 Light clear golden color, no head when it got to me. Aroma and flavor is a bit light but seems nice and crisp and drinkable. Clean and sweet and a nice lager. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jun 30, 2009 Goblet at Max’s. Pours a very clear light golden- almost too light- carbonation seemed a bit low as well- very thin head. Aroma is real clean- crisp clean pils malts cracker tones, and a crisp clean slightly green and floral lightly spicy hop character Flavor is also very clean- doughy pils, more cracekry, dry bittering green and floral hops and a very clean crisp finish with some slight grass and earth. Really nice. scraff (1920), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Jun 26, 2009 Draft - Max’s. Clear gold, thin white creamy head. Soft peppery florals and grassy-like aromas throughout. Crisp and well hopped with just a touch of dry sweetness in the finish. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Good stuff indeed... CaptainCougar (5374), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jun 26, 2009 On tap at Max’s in Baltimore: Pours a clear bright golden with a well-lacing wispy white head. Aroma of light pale malt and big floral, crisp noble hops. Starts with average fullness and a good, mild sweetness with lots of authentic floral and bittering hops before a crisp, bittersweet finish. This is incredibly drinkable and true to style. A very well made German-styled pils.
