3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at De Groote Witte Arend, Antwerp. Poured a clear light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is weak dry yeast with some hoppy notes. The flavour is medium bitter with some Belgian yeast and a nice liqourice hop bitter slightly medicinal smooth palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice and refreshing. It’s Belgian heritage is undoubtedly there which is not such a bad thing. It has one foot in Belgium and one in England. Maybe it needs to decide where it wants to be.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Yellow, golden, clear. Nice nose. Has a bulk-lager yeastyness, but also soft green grassy hops, freshness. Soft smooth body, good soft bitters. Somewhat pale, honey, malts. But good vibrant flavours. Hasn’t anything really special, but still an enjoyable and entertaining drink. Much like a nice homebrew lager that’s been properly hopped.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
Nose is grain, wet cardboard, malt. It fades very quickly. Looks like a larger. Taste: Lovely full bitter taste, lots of malt initially leading to grapefruit, then fading bitterness leaving a dry grapefruit finish. Mouthfeel is silky.
It’s a good larger with an awful nose. Taste is not especially complex, but that’s the nature of the style.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33cl bottle, exp 09/08/15. Golden color, thick lacing white head. Sticky, glueish aroma with yeast and distant fruity notes. Flavor has citrusy fruitiness, grassy hops, malt and alcohol, especially when really cold. Bitter finish. The flavor saved this beer as the aroma was quite off somehow.
