4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle into chalice, best before 3/2/2014. Pours lightly cloudy golden orange color with a nice 1-2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice rocky cap that lasts. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a nice amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big pear, apricot, apple, golden raisin, lemon zest, candi sugar, honey, bread, clove, pepper, herbal, and earthy yeast esters. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of fruity, spicy, and malt notes. Taste of pear, apricot, apple, golden raisin, lemon zest, candi sugar, clove, pepper, bread, honey, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, candi sugar, clove, bread, pepper, honey, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity and spicy esters with malt sweetness; and nearly zero cloying sweetness present after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly slick, smooth, and lightly prickly that is nice. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with hardly any warming noticed at all after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent tripel style. Great balance and complexity of malt, fruity, and spicy flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Purchased at de Bier Tempel in Brussels, Belgium; enjoyed at my hotel room while working late in Eppingen, Germany. Appearance is a cloudy dark gold with a thin white head that rims around the glass. Aroma smells pretty damn good, notes of cinnamon/spice, honey, sweetness, banana, like a good candy. Taste is moderately carbonated with a sweet banana flavor, Belgian ale yeast, fruity. Pretty good stuff, enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A very very hazy golden with a big tight white head.
The aroma seems muddled, perhaps a bit sweet, and certinally contains strong notes of spice, fruit and alcohol. Some metallic aromas are there as well.
The flavor is spicy & malty. The bottle doesn’t have a date on it, but I would guess that this one might be a little past it’s prime but it’s held up far better in with the flavor than the aroma. It still tastes pretty good, nicely bitter up front, sweetening up mid palate with some nice pear notes, and finishing dry. Citrus fruit, alcohol spiciness, and bright malty flavors mark this as a classic but still unique Tripel.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A great beer. Pours a dark cloudy brown, almost cider like. Smells amazing, like cherries and slight vanilla. Taste is refreshing, surprisingly light, an fruity. Had in bottle from beer club.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ The George and Dragon, Barcelona. This is a orange-peachy looking thing with a nice medium sized just off-white near creamy head. It smells quite nice. Some clear citrus and orange zest at first here, later on I get a little bit of Belgian yeast blended with a near banana sweetness and some sweet candy as well. Quite delicious. It has a near creamy texture this one and it has those small prickling carbonation bubbles. Nice. The taste is actually a bit fruity and sweet. I get lots of ripe oranges and melon with some sweet sticky alcohol and dates. My, oh my, this is not bad at all. Ends with more banana sweetness and some ripe water melon zest (the white part) can in some way remind a bit of a mild barley wine strangely enough. I like it. 07.08.2012

Dobre drożdżowo-słodowe piwo, ze sporym nagazowaniem ale tylko po przelaniu, w piciu nie przeszkadza i nie przytłacza. Piana obfita i wysoka. Kolor złoto miedziany i mętny

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft @ The Ale House in Amesbury. Almost clear gold in color. Nearly no head and flat carbonation. Nose is a sugary Belgian yeast. The taste and nose couldn’t be anymore different. Very spicy and herbal. So much in fact that it becomes a major turn off. It’s like my grandmother’s spice rack fell into this brew. Bitterness does show up in the finish yet, it’s not from hops.
Completely off balance. I had to double check to make sure I am rating the right beer. Well, I am. And not sure why this beer was so off. One thing for sure, I’m not going to try it again.

Poco dolce per essere una tripel.....quasi una IPA Belga....
ambrata con schiuma bianca persistente, naso non troppo interessante (agrumi, lieviti, una leggera speziatura)
bocca secca, corpo medio, abbastanza amara per una tripel........

Had this as a nightcap :) Very pleasant tripel, a little on the dry side with the bitterness dialed up a notch. Well-balanced and could sip this all night.
