330ml bottle from Antwerp and tasted on the Belgian railway tasting. Poured a hazy dark brown with a big frothy white head. The aroma is toffee treacle and a little yeast. The flavour is medium bitter light sweet with a toffee weak liqourice bitter bubbly zesty palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. One of the nicest Bruin beers I’ve tasted.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml bottle, as Slaapmutske Bruin, soon available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Reddish brown colour, large off-white head. Fairly strong sweetish aroma with notes of caramel malts and over-ripe (and even decaying) berries and fruits. The flavour is better than the aroma, malty and lightly spicy with caramel, but not too sweet. Moderate hops in the finish (30 IBU). Not quite as good as Slaapmutske Christmas, but nice enough.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a thin off-white head, nice amber-red-brown hazy colour and average carbonation. Not too interesting nose. Taste has abbey double-like herbs, malts and a hint of licorice that meet with abbey triple-like sweet-sour-bitterness and relatively big alcohol flavour. Weird beer.
