FatPhil (9358) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 26, 2008
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2014 330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle)
Poured carefully with minimal yeast. Slightly hazy orangy-brown, and a healthy tight off-white head. Initially a big fruity aroma, but that segues into a slightly sour mashy aroma on swirling. Lively in the mouth, but not harsh, definitely needs the swirls. Reasonable burntness in the taste, toasted brown bread, spicy, and tangy hops. The hops are more akin to Dutch interpretations of the Belgian style - quite spiky and tingly bitterness. You can tell there’s 6% there, but it’s not objectionable, helps lift the aromas up the nose. Finish is toasty and hoppy, a little rubbery at the edges. Adding some yeast does soften it a little, without increasing the rubberiness.

Fukito (738) - Sao Paulo, BRAZIL - JUN 22, 2008
Bottle, april 08. Turbid brown/ dark copper color with a medium, bubbly, slightly creamy beige head. Some raisins on the aroma, a slight touch of ripe bananas. Spicy/ toffee flavor with some slight vanilla reminiscenses. Slight alcohol burn. Medium to light palate, fizzy carbonatation hides a rather dry finnish. Coating sensation. Spicy but rather short aftertaste. Ok, rather plain light dubbel.

jercraigs (7812) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 17, 2008
2008-03-07. As Brune. Brown body - chestnut? - with a good sized pillowy off white head. Aroma is a touch muted, dark fruit over sweet malt, very muted sugars. Average palate. Pleasant. Deserves more of a write up but I was a bit distracted looking around Beer Mania.
Bottle at Beer Mania, Brussels

davidpl (435) - Santiago, CHILE - MAR 15, 2008
Appearance: amber some copper color. Great head of beige color, rocky, lasting and with good adherence to glass. Aroma: yeasty, mainly, with butter and vanilla touches. Candy oranges and some slight clove smells. Liquory aroma with reminiscences of old rum. Flavor: yeasty start, persistent, with butter, banana and sponge-cake reminiscences. Candy from the malts and fruitiness similar to peaches. Very slight spiciness similar to clove and ginger. Some light medicinal hoppiness in the end. Liquory final. Palate: medium body with silky and semi-oily texture. Low carbonated. Nice, with a liquory sensation big than the alcoholic degree write in the bottle.

yngwie (13567) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 9, 2008
Bottle, 33cl. An unclear, orange-brown beer with some floaties and a dense, beige head. Spiced, sugary nose with roasted malt, and a sweet, sugary and spiced flavor. Rather dry, full-bodied mouthfeel. Caramel, roasted malt and sugary sweetness in the finish. I’m not exactly sure why, but it disappointed me a bit, even though it’s a fine beer. (080215)
