Bottle kindly donated by the brewmaster himself. Golden coloured. Strange aroma with notes of ammonium. Grassy flavour with a rather bitter finish.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Grainy apple aroma and flavor. Somewhat dusty with just a touch of hops, the apple dominates. Hopbitter aftertaste. Disappointing beer.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
33cl bottle. Clear and transparent with light yellow colour. Medium head. Nose : bread, grains, wet hay. Light fruity aromas of apricot. Sip : water like with good carbonation. Dry overall with light taste of grains and citrus. I had this bottle after Ulricher Extra and Contra pils ... both much better then this one.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Boring yellow brew. Thin and undercarbonated. Rather sweet. Hints of hops. Uninteresting.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled, 330ml from BEERmerchants. Gold with fizzed head. I wasn’t very keen on this one, a particularly sweet and artificial flavour, it felt like they were going for a fresh pine nut note and reached for the bleach. Dead yeasty notes. Not my thing at all.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
A yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet and sour (probably from brewing cereal). The flavor is also sweet and sour but with a rather hoppy end with some oily hints, but on a sour corn background. The body is thin.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cafe Belge, Canterbury. A dirty tasting lager. Ho ho ho. Drinkable, but not that good. Adjunct flavours. Flaccid and greasy.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. This is just crappy Be;gian lager, about on par with Stella, kinda bland and fizzy, but with bit more appeal than most mass produced lagers.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
This stuff is terrible. The first surprise was that, when I poured it, it was distinctly cloudy and had lumps floating about in it. I wasn’t expecting that in a lager. The second surprise, and afar less welcome one was the really heavy diacetyl aroma. Coupled with soggy cardboard. Not so bad on the palate, although drinking it from a Duvel glass whilst holding my nose at the same time presented something of a physical challenge. Very cereally and far too sweet for a lager, with a raw malt background. Some hoppy bite coming through on the finish redeemed things marginally. At least many pale lagers are anodyne and inoffensive. This was positively unpleasant. I struggled to finish it. To be fair, it was past its best before date. 250ml bottle (thank God).
