(Slaghmuylder Greut Lawauitj) As Witkap-Pater Special. Bottle, more than 330 ml at home (filled to the very top), served into a tulip, ABV 5.5% Orange coloured body, clear, with a tall and soapy, white head on top, with good retention. Aroma of candy sugar, light caramel, belgian yeast, apricot, classic. Taste has some fruity notes but it’s kind f weird, some funky character in there. Sugar again, metallic notes. Medium thin body, good carbonation. Nothing special about it.

Troebel donker geel(oker) gekleurd bier. Mooie schuimkraag. Geur en smaak was voor mij te zuur. Vond dit niet een geslaagd bier. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly murky amber color with golden hue, frothy lasting head, large brown sediments which are a bit unpleasant to the eye. A: nice bitter malty presence which reminds of Pilsener, with a gentle sweet caramel undertone. Citrus and pine notes, wood notes. Inviting. T: interesting take on the Speciale Belge style. Starts quite crisp and malty, with some citrus and oatmeal notes. Develops a sweet taste with caramelized malts, wood notes, faint fruit notes, mostly peach. Medium body. Aftertaste reveals the typical Speciale Belge sweet bitter taste. Aftertaste is quite dry. Considering I am not a big fan of the style, I really enjoyed this one.

Under the name "Witkap Pater Special" Amber hazy with medium beiga head. Nice yeasty aroma. taste a bit too watery and dry, and maybe even too sour, but otherwise with mild bitterness and good hint to the roasted malt.

Bottle ("Special"). Thanks to KL. Light lemon nose, with some very light peach and yeast. Very pale apple juice color. Grain, yeast, thin sweet fruitiness, small bittering. Finish is more or less balanced, and then goes just a bit sweet. Thin body, pleasant mouthfeel. Nice, little one.

Bottle as Special. Nicely hoppy nose, lemon, grass, biscuity malt. Medium amber color with a huge, fine head. Flavor os biscuits, prickly hops, lemon, rather peppery finish. A clean and enjoyable drinker, very nice.
