MesandSim (7119) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 18, 2007 A Mes rate: 33cl bottle from the Belgian Belly. I belive this was brewed in honour of a man who won the town crier competition in Belgium somewhere. As a result I am fairly confident that it is a one off. I should try and get more info and re-rate. A mixed bag reception on here and I can see why. It is one of those you either like or you don’t. Thankfully i do. The initial pour gives a HUGE bubbly head but it dies almost as quick as it forms to a thin covering. The nose is quite spicy with some orange and something a little minty about it too. Spritzy, almost salty mouthfeel and quite earthy and wooden too. The finish is dusty and the hops come through to add some balance. I have to say I personally find this enjoyable and certainly better than its current score would have you believe. Not a world beater but pleasant and suppable all the same.
