Bottle. Golden color. Clear, but not filtered. Greapefruit overshadows the hops in the aroma. Light flowery hopbitter flavor with grapefruit and a hint of blackcurrant. Very refined flavor, glorious aroma. Delicately balanced. But sadly a rather short finish. Still a very nice beer.

sayravai (4691) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 21, 2006
(Bottled) Clear golden color with a medium, tight and foamy head. Grassy, saaz-hoppy aroma with some yeastiness. Grassy-hoppy, quite malty flavor with caramel, birch leaves and earthy tones. Medium-bodied, refreshing palate with slightly fizzy carbonation. A nicely tasty and balanced, freshly hoppy pilsener. A less interesting version of Vandenheuvel Ekla. Nothing to do with christmas, but that’s ok...

SHIG (4013) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - DEC 18, 2006
Draught and Bottle: Did a side by side tasting. Both pored a light blonde with white head. Nice hoppy aroma and grass notes. Tasted hoppy and malt/grain finish. The draught was more pronounced in aroma and flavor.

Svesse (7033) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 12, 2006
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 8 Dec) Golden yellow colour with rocky, white head. Malty nose with lovely aromas of grassy hops, notes of cereal and white bread. Malty, bready taste with a hoppy finish loaded with grassy hops and hints of citrus. Rather uncomplicated but well constructed with a nice hop character.

diabel (1634) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - DEC 18, 2005
Bottled Rocky, white head. Good lace. Fully lasting head. Sparkling blond body. Nose of coriander, lavender, anise, chicory. Moderately bitter initial flavour, haevily biiter finish. Lovely pilsener.

Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - MAR 29, 2005
Golden coloured with no head. I did not know this was a lager but I tasted it right away. Hops are hidden in the aroma. Sweet flavour with unpleasant notes of corn. Quite thin.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2006 No head; yellow-golden beer, no carbonation, doesn’t look quite like beer. Very grainy, malty, even chaff nose. Sweet honeyish grain, again chaff-like, summer-type beer. For a Kerst! Slightly slick, but light. Somewhat denser texture. For a Pilsner, its more than OK. Under its X-mas banner, it falls a bit short.
Retasted draught, unfiltered 2006. Very nice, fresh European hops nose, must have been used in serious amounts 7/10Very short hopsshock, followed by sweet pale malts, getting a grapey taste. This is the freshest and the best, as well the bitterest I’ve ever had a Slag beer, and it is worth more 6/10 / 3/5 / 14/20
