Deep mahogany in colour; this full bodied rich malty brew is bursting with flavours and aromas created using Fuggles, Liberty and Mount Hood hops. A perfect autumnal beer.

Cask conditioned at St. Aldates Tavern, Oxford. Dark amber with cream head. This proved to be a rich, malty beer, smooth, fruity, mid roasted maltiness, some sweetness then a lingering hoppy character. Some fruity notes from the hops. A very decent beer indeed.

Cask at The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) A clear deep ruby colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of toffee, fruitcake, some caramel, slight dark fruits and subtle maple syrup. Taste of toffee, fruitcake, some maple syrup, slight molasses and maybe plum in there. Medium bodied and a slightly sticky texture. A bittersweet, toffee, fruit bitterness in the finish. A malty bitter with sticky toffee and fruity flavour. A tasty autumn ale but maybe a little sickly after the one.

Cask at the wenlock. Some maple or caramel here, like a pudding beer, chewy and cakey. Nice but perhaps a bit sickly over a couple of pints. Deep brown red.

On the 3rd Oct 2013 my wife and I had 22 half-pints between us at the 35th Telford Beer Festival: this was one of those 22. Hand-pulled, this was deep red in colour, with a beige head that hung around and gave some heavy lacing. Rich malty molasses ruled the sweet aroma and taste: toffee and caramel notes ooze out of this brew and fill your senses, I really liked this beer. Sadly we had others to try or Iíd have stayed on this all afternoon. The beer at the festival that suited my taste buds the most: a bit too malty and sweet for the wife.

Cask at the White Swan, Solihull. Poured a clear deep mahogany with a reddish hue and a big frothy light tan head. The aroma is malty with some fruit and hops. The flavour is medium to weak bitter with a smooth, dark toffee, liqourice, malty palate with a rich chewy consistency.
