UPDATED: JAN 27, 2012 Not bad for a low-carb beer, but just realize you are not drinking a great ale. Pours golden clear with no head, almost flat.

Being a masochist of sorts I’m always fascinated by the "light" beer craze of North America. I never found a "light" beer in Europe, as people were happy to know that their beer tasted like beer. Except in the case of Kriek, but then it tasted like Kriek, and not water. Speaking of which, why haven’t the big commercial brewers tried to market a Kriek-style brew to the same people who might buy a "light" beer? Nonetheless, in my further education of all things related to beer being "light", whatever that may mean at any given time, this stuff pours with a very pale and clear body but still a small layer of head. Faint aroma of murky hops, which was more than I was expecting. Taste is a smooth nothingness with just a vague hint of malt if you tilt your head correctly at the right time. Dry finish, at least. I’m still looking for that "light" beer that’s worth drinking instead of a fine soda water.

Had this given to me at a function last night. No mas!!! Drank it from the bottle. This thing had virtually no carbonation, smelled like urine, and was almost devoid of any taste resembling beer. Not to mention the watery mouthfeel. Wretched, just bloody wretched. Only good thing was not having to pay for it.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2009 Bottle. 4%. Weak white foam that fizzes away quickly. Aroma is corn and grains. Taste is watery, grainy, and mild apple sweetness. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp, but there is no flavour to really speak of. I would ask for fruit juice before asking for one of these. $11.99/6 @ Liquor Depot Mayfield Common

Le suffixe "Clear" veut surement désigné ici qu’ils lui ont extirpé toute saveur et charisme qu’elle aurait pu mérité....une gorgé de déception suivi d’un oubli d’amertume

Pours light golden yellow, with minimal white head. Faint aromas of malts, taste is watery and not very flavourful. No bitterness and very little sweetness noted. Overall Meh.

Bouteille 341ml.
