MrBunn (1521), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 21, 2007 Bottle. Golden pour that has a short-lived creamy head. Aromas are grassy and sweet... almost a honey scent in the background. Flavor is a little grassy, then sweet in the finish. Rather uninspired. cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2007 The first time I tried this beer, it was the only beer in the house. It wasn’t that great. The second time I tried this beer, it still wasn’t that great. The company’s flagship brand and liked by many of my friends, just not my glass of brew. I have to admit, the clear bottle is a very nice touch.
The beer pours a light yellow colour (so the bottle isn’t hiding anything) with a minimal head. The aroma is thick and hoppy, maybe too hoppy. This beer has way too much carbonation and is harsh on the cheeks. The taste is a mishmash of varying degrees..slightly malty, slightly grassy, slightly awful. emobassfoo (178), Webster, New York, USA Jul 7, 2007 Variety pack from Hegs. Yellow-looking body with a rocky white head. Lotsa bubbles in there. Smells kinda funky. Metallic or something? Tastes a little better than a Genny cream, but pretty identical taste. Had a crispy finish though. Aftertaste was like chalk. The other selections were lacking so I wonder if this is an old pack. daniel0017 (232), Ontario, Canada Jun 28, 2007 341mL bottle: Clear, light amber color. Skunky hops to the nose. Flavor is sharp, distinctively a canadian ale with its floral notes and hints of fruit in the aftertaste. Well rounded mouthfeel. Robust and complex yet easy to drink and very enjoyable. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Jun 17, 2007 12 oz bottle. this beer was smooth and i guess a little "creamy". Better than mainstream but not on the level of most craft beers. andrewboss (137), New York, USA Jun 13, 2007 Updated: Jul 4, 2007Had it on a plane ride to Canada. Decided to try it because I never heard of it. I really enjoyed it. One of the better North American beers I’ve tried. tagz (334), USA Jun 11, 2007 (12 oz bottle) sleemans are comparable to upper level american light lagers. better than bud but nothing approaching a craft beer. carbonation is dominant. the flavor is primarily bitter with a slight boozey tail end. in line with molson canadian, although i think i prefer the latter. if i’m going to be drinkning a light lager i like a cleaner palate and fine carbonation. sleemans tend to be fizzy. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA Jun 5, 2007 Nose of flowers, spice, cereal, and a hint of alcohol. Pours a clear golden. The cascade meanders into a tall snow white stiff creamy head that leaves very good lace. The malty and spicy flavor is moderately acidic with a crisp finish. The medium creamy body is lively. Been wanting to try this one for years, thanks to my Baby for the 12 pack sampler hookup.
