2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Sham (1846) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 6, 2007
Pellucid gold with a flimsy head and minimal lace. The aroma leans towards a bit of honey, a bit of huskiness and some notes of cardboard. Perhaps a little butterscotch. The flavor is doused with a large chunk of bitter and a touch piney hops. There is a swath of caramel and toasted malts mixed in. The body is light and thin. The finish is distinct in hoppy qualities.

Rating for Sleeman Cream Ale 64
Pours a clear, rather pale golden with light streams of carbonation and a small, dissipating white head that settles in scummy islands. For a cream ale, this sure shows an excess of noble hops in the aroma. Bittersweet flavors clash rather than mingle and an overall sense of adjuncts is acheived. Lightly creamy on the tongue, a sensation which gets washed away with effervescence.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 brewgirlca (57) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 4, 2007
Bottle. Pours a massive white foam head that dissipates quickly. Deep yellow, clear. Corn in nose along with some DMS, no hops as per style, fairly clean except for corn/sulphur. Crisp and clean upfront with bit of cloying corn sweetness and mid and end- too much. Hop bitterness a tad big for style. Lingering astringency - hard water? Mouthfeel is a bit heavy and cloying for style. Overall a fairly pleasant cream ale that needs work on water to resolve astringency. Quickly disappearing head indicates too much corn and or sugar adjuncts. Good for a hot day after a long ride on a road bike when you just want something cold and wet and overall quality is of secondary concern.

From the bottle... small head that disappeared quickly. Very light straw coloring, suprised it’s a "Cream Ale." Aroma of a European Lager. Thin body with bitter hop flavoring - tastes like a cheap Budweiser.

On tap at Longbranch Saloon. Enjoyed in a frosty mug. Decent flavor for a BMC clone. Lots of corn flavoring but minor traces of hops. Drinkable due to its thin body and piss-yellow hue, but avoidable due to its lack of good-beer-ness.

Poured into a pilsner glass from a 12oz. bottle. Sleeman variety pack. Pours an amber/orange color, slight head, short lasting. Aroma of hops, though very, very slight. Tastes like a pale lager, as others have said. Very watery. Thin in the mouth. A bit of a bitter aftertaste. Drinkable but seems like would give a bad hangover like any macro lager would. After trying all four, the Sleeman pack turned out to be a huge disappointment. Lesson learned I guess.
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 JK (3400) - Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 4, 2006
This isn’t terrible but very light all around. Scarcely any flavor or aroma at all, but what is there isn’t offensive, even though it is nothing more than a hint of medium sweet malt. A golden colored beer; basically a fancy pale lager.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 beerguy101 (4825) - Newark, California, USA - DEC 3, 2006
This cream ale pours a light orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is corn, malty and sweet. A medium to light bodied ale. Malts are corn and cereal, some grass. Not much flavor at all really. Kind of thin and watery, sort of like beer flavored water. OK for a cream ale its not that bad..yes it is. Lively carbonation. Lots of corn flavors. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
