HighlanderOne (538), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA Apr 21, 2006 Updated: May 3, 2006Poured from bottle. Grassy wine aroma. No head to speak of. Light malt flavor with some hops in there. Bubbly feel, but with a dryness I liked. Finished ok. Really not that bad, but def not a great one. A clean crisp yellow color with a nice aroma. This was a very drinkable beer and tasted great. Liked the light malts used and the hops where not too bad. I would have another if this was being served at a party.
kyzr (1119), Belgrade, Montana, USA Apr 7, 2006 Color of gold, sweet nose with light head. Flavor of sweet and sugar, finish very light and clean. Contra (30), USA Apr 2, 2006 I’m surprised to see this as low as it is, not because it’s anything spectacular, but it’s not too bad. I can imagine it being the perfect beer to deep fry onion rings in. Otherwise, it’s something to pass on unless surrounded by standard macrobreweries.
I was a bit disappointed as I had Sleeman’s Porter on tap, which was quite good. GonZoBeeR (2156), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Apr 1, 2006 On can...
Aroma:chimcal aroma fron the comercial beer...
Appearance:clear yellow,big head...
Flavor:watery, light malt flavor, chemical flavor..... LordUppity (26), Surrey, British Columbia, Canada Mar 17, 2006 Bottle. High marks for the pleasant buttscotch aroma; sadly, the praise stops there. Unattractively pale, not-quite golden appearance. Extremely bland; does not taste like a cream ale at all. This will likely be one of my lower scores. bigrond (1043), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 17, 2006 this beer is pale and crappy. very dissapponted and very sad that I have a variety 12 pack to finish. Hopefully the others will be better. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Mar 14, 2006 From the bottle, labeled a little differently than the picture (and capped with the "John Sleeman Presents" series): Poured yellow and still with a bit of a gluey head, but otherwise an uninviting look. This is awful corn-starchy and stark to hit the "cream ale" zone. Me thinks I’ve been sold a Labatts.
