Commercial Description:
Remarkably smooth for a full-flavoured beer. Our founder's intention was to combine the refreshing taste of a German lager with the distinctive taste of an English Ale without blending the two.

$3.99 for a 6 pack of cans at OTTOS in Brown Deer, WI. on 03/11/06. From some of these reviews I expected this to be a C- brew. I found it to be a solid B. Pours an average color but with a rich, creamy, off-white head that lasts for the duration. Has a very nice, malty/creamy aroma, like cookie dough. Flavor is light & smooth, with a tad of bitterness. Not a hearty brew, but some good flavor. A great beer? NO! But much better than I had expected. I WILL be buying this again.

Pour is a yellow with a white head. Aroma is the same as a pale lager. Nothing to write home about there. Flavor is not much or even worse. Little bready with some hops showing up is about it. Pretty poor. Cream ale my ass!

Bottle. Light golden beer with a small white head. Aromas are caramel, butterscotch, sulphur and light spices. Flavours are caramel malts and canned sweetcorn water with hints of lemon, disguised by over-carbonation. Dry on the finish. Nothing special - what’s the point of "Cream Ale"?

11.5oz bottle. Clear, light golden hue. Quickly diminishing white head. Slight ring is all that’s left. Minimal caramel malt nose. Slightly bready. Little bit of peppery citrus. All of the above aromas are mild to faint. Good initial mouthfeel. Zesty, full (relatively), smooth, lingering bitter finish. This is smooth and easily drinkable. A whole lot better than I was expecting. Granted, it’s nothing to blow your skirt up, but its easy. Still a little light and watery thin, but seems to be right on que with the definition. Like I said, unexpectedly impressed!

Bottle. Clear light amber with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Light hoppy citrus aroma. Light to medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Light sweet flavor and finish of short duration.

Clear bottle, bright yellow color, off-white head, skunkyish aroma at the opening of the bottle, with a slight pale malt note, hint of corny accent in the aroma, follows through on a light to medium-bodied palate with a pale malt, honey hint, citrus hops flavors, leading towards a crisp floral finish.

This was my first Canadian beer in over a year, having lived in Australia for the past 13 months. This was offered to me by the purser on my Air Canada flight from England. It was served a little warmer than what I would normally have, and I think as a consequence I enjoyed it more. It looks like an average pale lager, but with a massive chunky foamy head that lasted forever and laced the glass all the way down-- good marks for appearance. Fairly average flavours of pale malt on the palate. It has a distinctly creamy mouthfeel, which is noticably different from other Canadian macros.

From a 11.5 oz. distinctive shaped Sleeman brown bottle with no freshness date. Made an average appearance, poured a red hued pale golden with a small white head that quickly reduced to a thin lacing and a minimal amount of sticking. Had faint aromas, a light graininess, a faint funky/rotten eggish yeast scent and a mild pale maltiness, almost a rice maltiness. Moderate carbonation and a slick light bodied mouth feel, average drinkability. Had largely a clean taste, a faint grainy hop bitterness, hardly any maltiness at all and a dry, crisp sweet finish, like a cream soda.
